Kennedy claiming a manipulation of the evidence, despite the fact that Kay said there was no pressure from the administration and he has been given ALL the intelligence reports available.Since when has the truth meant anything to a rat? When facts do not help them, the lie is their best friend.
If President Bush had followed their reasoning, waited while the U.N. did their faux business, and we were attacked again, this hearing would be about how President Bush had failed to do his job. The rats are dispicable, and how any person in this country could pull the lever to put one in office, is beyond me.!!
To: Howlin
They don't want to "go back." They want to START with Bush. BUT .. if they REALLY want to find out what went wrong with our intell .. They HAVE to go back to Church, because he plays a big part of it
BTW .. these "large stock piles" Kay refers to after the 91 war .. would they be linked to the large stock piles that the UN found and destroyed thru the years?

Okay. Guess I just can't see how small stockpiles are less of a threat than large ones.

"U.S. government analysts were not alone in these views. In the late spring of 2002 I participated in a Washington meeting about Iraqi WMD. Those present included nearly twenty former inspectors from the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM), the force established in 1991 to oversee the elimination of WMD in Iraq. One of the senior people put a question to the group: Did anyone in the room doubt that Iraq was currently operating a secret centrifuge plant? No one did. Three people added that they believed Iraq was also operating a secret calutron plant (a facility for separating uranium isotopes).
Other nations' intelligence services were similarly aligned with U.S. views. Somewhat remarkably, given how adamantly Germany would oppose the war, the German Federal Intelligence Service held the bleakest view of all, arguing that Iraq might be able to build a nuclear weapon within three years. Israel, Russia, Britain, China, and even France held positions similar to that of the United States; France's President Jacques Chirac told Time magazine last February, "There is a problemthe probable possession of weapons of mass destruction by an uncontrollable country, Iraq. The international community is right ... in having decided Iraq should be disarmed." In sum, no one doubted that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction."

I agree that the CIA should not be used against American citizens, but are you sure that they were? As I remember it, it was the FBI that was infiltrating the anti-war groups and the fact remains, the communists were behind these groups and still are.

Bush's SOTU 2003:
Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike? If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words, and all recriminations would come too late. Trusting in the sanity and restraint of Saddam Hussein is not a strategy, and it is not an option. (Applause.)

he is the "intel guy" on the John Batchelor WABC radio show. He is certainly not right all the time, but he tosses out some interesting stuff.
