Thank you. Very good news.

The BBC behaved abominably during the war and after.

Disgraceful.

McCain doing a good job. A great job.

He says there was an "obvious intelligence failure." I am glad we're finally clearing this up. He can make the case that action was "justified," but as he just said, "obviously we were wrong." That's the bottom line.

As for opinions, I like to base them on facts

Then please proceed. It will be a welcome change from your usual approach.

You know, we did hear rumors that Saddam did not have these weapons, but the rumors suggested that Saddam knew it and didn't have the guts to admit it because it would have been such a loss of face. His retention of power was based on fear and the fear was based on a lie about the depth of his power. (I can't remember where this story came from that we discounted it so completely, probably agence French presse)

That said, Saddam did have WMD programs going and the capability to produce the WMD in a very short time period and this is really what he did not want revealed.

Done in earnest, yes. But the bottom line is that the finding is we were WRONG about WMD.

Huck, you're doing what the libs do...plucking out a negative and ignoring the rest of the evidence.

with all due respect, that is not helpful

Senator Warner pointed out that we don't know that for sure yet.

Actually, it's not necessarily the bottom line.

It's quite noticeable when people take what they want out of this and other hearings. I do that myself.

However, it seems that you missed the part where Kay said we could still find WMD. OR, they could be so well hidden we will NEVER find them. The absence of evidence does not mean there isn't any evidence.

"...evidence they could have produced."

Oh, how I wish he would mention the precursor materials that we've found!

Sen. Levin then demanded that Kay admit that there was no conclusive evidence to link OJ's blood at the crime scene to OJ himself.

McCain asks Kay if he believes they need an outside independent investigation?????

Well, fine: let's have one; start with Frank Church.

but as he just said, "obviously we were wrong." That's the bottom line.

Only one problem. You and McCain have no idea if the intelligence was wrong. You can't prove a negative.
