Amber Alert Issued for Child Taken by Father

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah officials have issued an Amber Alert for a 5-year-old Harrisville girl allegedly taken by her noncustodial father.

 

Authorities said 41-year-old Steven Miller of Killeen, Texas, arrived at the home for child visitation. They said that while the 16-year-old son was changing clothes, Miller left with the girl, Stephanie Juliet Miller.

Officers said the girl has asthma and needs daily medicines but has none with her.

The Amber Alert said Miller could be en route to Texas, but he also has friends throughout the West.

The vehicle was described as a 1980s blue Chevrolet pickup with spray-painted black rims and a temporary Texas license.

Miller was described as white, 5-foot-5, 190 pounds with gray hair, blue eyes and a dragon tattoo on his left arm.

Police said Miller allegedly made a comment that he would go out in style if he had to in order to keep the child.

This is a clear violation of the Amber Alert System.
There will be an investigation of that abuse.

It is illegal to use the "Amber Alert" system for custody and visitation disputes. Period. This was spelled out at it's inception. And THIS was clearly just that...

Hello everyone....I am Stephanie Miller’s mom. She is fine and well with me here back in Texas. Her father has ample of vititation rights and she is doing well. I did not call the “AMBER ALERT” the FBI did after Steve’s remarks to the police. I did not know of the murder aligations until after the fact. If I had known about them before I first left Texas I would have stayed to finish ALL loose ends. Nothing came of it, it was ALL lies. My late daughter Amanda Jane Miller clearly died of sids and her records are open book in Bell County Court House in Belton Texas. My ex sister in law trumpt up all stories because she did not like me because I am mormon. I did not know the divorce was cancelled and my attorney never told me because he said he was never told. I also gave my ex lots of visit time with the kids and begged him to move to utah with us so the kids would breath better from their asthma verses the problems they endure here in central Texas.He was voilent in the marraige and I was too scared to tell. He said he would kill me if I ever told. So I had nothing on him in court so I HAD to let him see the kids.
