Amber Alert Issued for Child Taken by Father
Jan. 27, 2004
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah officials have issued an Amber Alert for a 5-year-old Harrisville girl allegedly taken by her noncustodial father.

Authorities said 41-year-old Steven Miller of Killeen, Texas, arrived at the home for child visitation. They said that while the 16-year-old son was changing clothes, Miller left with the girl, Stephanie Juliet Miller.
Officers said the girl has asthma and needs daily medicines but has none with her.
The Amber Alert said Miller could be en route to Texas, but he also has friends throughout the West.
The vehicle was described as a 1980s blue Chevrolet pickup with spray-painted black rims and a temporary Texas license.
Miller was described as white, 5-foot-5, 190 pounds with gray hair, blue eyes and a dragon tattoo on his left arm.
Police said Miller allegedly made a comment that he would go out in style if he had to in order to keep the child.

I don't think this is deserving of an Amber alert. While parental kidnapping is a big problem, it's not the same as some serial murderer who is gonna kill a young woman.

I'm in the process of divorce, and if my wife ran off with my kid, I don't think it's the same as some child killer absconding with a kid.

What is gonna happen is people are gonna start ignoring amber alerts if they are overused.

No, that could mean he will just not let the police take him. Doesn't mean he will harm his daughter.

Police and FBI feel this is a dangerous situation.

Police said Miller allegedly made Depends who alleged.
If the police leaked the allegations of an ex spouse then all bets are off.

I'm in the process of divorce, and if my wife ran off with my kid, I don't think it's the same as some child killer absconding with a kid. I know for for a fact that it ain't the same. When my ex abducted my kids -- several times, in fact -- the police did exactly nothing. Zip, zilch, nada, NOTHING.
In fact, one time, the State of Michigan even hid her, and my kids, lying to me when I made enquiry.
When women disappear with the kids in a divorce, it's "Mothers trying to establish a new life with their children." When men do the exact same thing, it's, "Parental abduction."
 The game is rigged, bigtime.

Um, no, that in itself says "allegedly".
I'll lay you odds that the ex-mother claimed he said it, and I'll lay you equal odds that he didn't.
It's how the game is played.
 Ask me how I know...

Police and FBI feel this is a dangerous situation. Only because they're involved. :)
Ask Randy Weaver how that works. :(

If the police leaked the allegations of an ex spouse then all bets are off. Bingo.
Since it's pretty much SOP in Modern Divorce Culture for the ex-mother to levy such allegations, I'm gonna withhold judgement on Dad.

It's ok to be skeptical, but would it hurt to not cast doubt in the eyes of everyone else. There is a chance this child is in danger. If the father has nothing to hide, let him present his case to a judge.

Surely someone as honorable as an ex spouse would NEVER lie to the police, in order to get the legal system to do something nasty to the old hubby!
