"Never mind box cutters, how did the terrorists smuggle knock-out gas onto that flight?" you carry the ammonia, I'll carry the bleach, ok? (no wonder they are suspicious about liquids now)

The head writer tried to get on Flight 11 but there were no seats left in first class. I think he was booked on the same flight for Sept 12. OMG.

Anyone who believes that the democrats have a handle on this situation has lost their mind. Support Bush!

I flew recently and had shampoo, hairspray, cologne, shaving cream etc. in carry-on. Would not be too difficult to disguise mace or any other chemical as common toiletries.

I am convinced Dean is an elitist and dangerous.
I turned the sound down on the TV and watched him in personal situations in New Hampshire. He shakes hands, alright, but his gaze is perverted, downward, diabolical and downright sneaky-looking. He does not grab on to people with love and concern....just looks down, mired in his own elitist liberal policy wonk fantasies. One angry, sad, sonofabitch. Another pious know-it-all social engineer, like Hillary, that knows better than us what is good for us unwashed masses, and will shove it down our throats through his "leadership", whether we like it or want it at all.
I suggest Freepers do the TV-sound-down thing next time they watch Dean on TV. What a loser. Glad Pyongyang is getting irritated that he is losing.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who can see most people for who they really are. Some people make me sick.

Join us in lobbying Republicans in the House to defeat the Bush illegal immigrant amnesty fiasco, or any further such plans in his Second Administration, so that it becomes a moot issue, and then receive the votes of millions of conservative and still offended fence-sitters on Bush--due to this stupid amnistia plan. Then, you create a Win-Win for all of us. We say, no Congressional Defeat the Bush-Rove Plan, then those conservative votes ought to stay home or go to conservative third party options in November. Deal?

I suppose that you and so many others are right, and that my concerns come from the broadcasting of the answering machine messages that people in the towers (and the planes) left for loved ones. Hearing a friend's last words like that, especially so public, would have just about destroyed me.

I thought about that, but I don't want to edit it because it would dull the sharp edges, so to speak. Also, given the nature of it, I don't want to offend or upset anyone reading the thread.
I know there are some people who were deeply traumatized by it, but can't bear the thought of hearing or reading detailed accounts, and I want to respect that.

Thank you, Lisa, but I'm not brave -- just lucky enough to have been right to the east of the WTC site (most of the debris went west and south) and a massive fear of fire that kept me edging further and further away, instead of getting closer to see what was happening. I merely survived and got the hell out of there, I didn't do anything brave.

I was thinking if you posted it on a thread with a disclaimer so people would know what they're going to be reading...but you'd still probably be flamed. Look at this thread--people getting flamed (albeit lightly) for merely saving 9/11 stuff. :sigh:
I don't even know if I could read it without emotional distress I don't have energy for right now.
One thing, we do have to keep on keeping on.

I didn't do anything brave. Sorry, gotta disagree with you on this one, my friend.
I remember the fear I went through that day, by having my niece and her husband in a suburb of DC and not being able to reach them. I remember calling my daughter in Columbus, because of my fear of other cities being targeted.
So I do think you are brave, simply for the fact that you lived this horror firsthand, and still have the fortitude to post your thoughts here.
Please FReepmail me the post you referred to.

Just managing to survive doesn't make me brave -- just lucky and able to somehow manage to keep sane long enough to figure out a plan (how to get the hell out of there and ahead of tens of thousands of people who all wanted to use the few remaining pay phones in Manhattan) and execute it.
One thing I still regret is that there was nothing I could do to help anyone else.

What don't you get? mecca, medina, baghdad, terhain, tripoli, syria.. islamic places
Are you out of your mind? You actually advocate nuking EVERY Islamic nation? You are aware that about 20% of the worlds population is Islamic, right? You are endorsing a religious genocide which would involve over 1 billion people, which makes you, my friend....totally insane. No need responding to this post. You will be ignored.
To: gathersnomoss
i guess Bush is the lesser of 2 evils, but I am not convinced that either parties are willing to do what it takes to eliminate terrorism here and overseas. Thoughts?
To: areafiftyone
I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I am used to it. I walked into my local diner after Iowa and the manager, who knows I am a Republican, asked me what I thought. I said I thought people had finally started paying attention. And I got several hostile glares. Glad I ruined their dinner. : )
Not that I like Kerry, but Dean is so clearly a nutcase and because of his legions of wet-behind-the-ears supporters had everyone bamboozled.

Try Angelwood. Hope she has some left.
