Wisconsin CCW Poll

Freep the poll. The Concealed Carry Bill is going to pass or fail today at 1:00 in the Senate today. It's important we win this. If we don't, the anti's will use it against us in a couple of hours.

It's at 82% right now.
I really hesitate to post this but;
the site sets a cookie -
Set-Cookie: phpPoll1075198411=1
It appears that if you accept/don't delete the cookie it won't count - I accepted it and tried several times and saw one instance where I apparently had consecutive 'votes' and the percentages did not change.
Mozilla, Firebird make it easy to block the cookie.

Just for effect, in case they check their logs, I voted 'no' 3 times with the referrer set to:
http://www.wi-doc.com/dodge.htm - A Wisconsin max security prison
Let them think prisoners are opposed to CCW, as they mainly are.
I've voted ~80 times just to atone for that bit of tomfoolery.

Now it's off to the other poll just posted.

"A Wisconsin max security prison

They surf the net? They're supposed to be contemplating all the violent havoc they caused!

Thanks for the help. I learned from the Minnesota debates that the ant's do use these polls.

I'm taking a few hours out of my life for this but it's better than waiting until 2007.

I hope they don't but I'm relying on the poll taker not checking past the referring site info.
Whilst searching for a prison site I came across an article that Wisconsin has/had a Wiccan(witch) for a paid post as a prison chaplain. Good grief!
http://www.100megsfree4.com/farshores/pchap.htm

If I get time later today I may search FR to see if that was ever posted. Tax dollars for witches? Sad to say, it's probably not just Wisconsin.
(If anybody does find it at FR would you please ping me?)

I always check for the cookies and really hate the idea some anti-gun-nut might realize the info I post could be helpful to 'their' side not just to us but...

Thanks.
I usually search on words/phrases in the title - which explains my irritation with people who post their own/changed titles. Keywords seem to be so varied and one has to guess what the poster may have used.
I found 2 posts searching with 'wiccan.'
I was out of the country with a very, very slow connection for a while so didn't surf FR for 2 years.

As an aside, it came up yesterday, the search engine doesn't search roots of a word so "Bush" and "Bush's" will return different results. I assume that keywords work the same way. But, I'm too lazy to confirm that! LOL

You're not going to believe this from remembering what happened last time. We had our supporters in the Capitol ready to go and they called a Senate caucus that lasted all day.

Today, with only one minute into the assembly, the dems called for another caucus. A brief caucus. The pols broke out laughing when they heard the word brief.

Bastards.

My history list shows 156 visits to the site.
~5 were with cookies so I assume that they didn't count, 3 or 4 were "from" the Waupun prison - no votes, and the rest were yes votes, ~148, so I'm happy.
AND, I have to do something that makes money so I'm out of here.
I will pay attention to the Milwaukee news tonight just to see what happens.
Might I request a mail (or ping if you post an update to this thread or a new one) with the results? Thank you.

From the LaCrosse Trib.

""The troopers have serious concerns regarding the secrecy provision within the bill. Legislation jeopardizing both officer and citizen safety during traffic stops is not sensible. "

This is the sort of empty claim and fear they are promoting. The fact is that a CC holder isn't going to attack the police. It will be the criminal that doesn't hold a license. The paper has little else in it. That means the folks in LaCrosse are hoping the veto is overridden, just as my experiene tells me.

AYES - 64 NAYS - 35

Did this have to pass by a 2/3rds majority? I think so.

Thanks.

I was just coming back to correct that. The tip off was the Townsend-Olson votes.

So what the heck is happening? They labeled it CONCURRENCE but what does a definition of an agreement mean?

They even took the schedule off the website and they're back hiding in their chambers again.
