Never did figure out Pat and the Florida deal. Didn't make any sense then and still doesn't.

In 2000, a lot of Oklahoma people didn't vote because we didn't have a Senate election, our Congressmen were going to get reelected, and Bush was going to win Oklahoma.

I faulted the Bush campaign for not coming into States like mine and asking for votes so the turnout would have been much larger. The only stop he made in OK was the night before our primary on Super Tuesday and that was last minute with about 500 of supporters like me showing up. Too much time was spent IMO in states where there was no chance versus states with voters like mine. It cost the popular vote IMO by not going into pro-Bush states and rallying the people.

In The Oklahoman yesterday, they said that Tom Coburn was considering a run for Senate. He will get my support immediately if he does run. If not, then I will support Mayor Humphries. I really would prefer Dr. Tom!

A question:

How much further would the conservative movement, and the President, and our conservative candidates who are running in primaries, be ahead if the energy and time devoted by FReepers to these ongoing arguments was instead devoted to them?

Purely hypothetical, of course, since that time and energy is gone and will never be reclaimed.

Of course, there is tomorrow...

It's simple: he was trying to throw the election to Gore.

Opportunism. If Gore had been elected, Pat could have run again or his endorsement would have been worth some small amount. This way, it's worthless and Republicans laugh at him. He can't even get on FNC any more so McLaughlin lets him on out of pity.

Bastard Buchanan really did want Gore instead of Bush. But a lot of us never drank his koolaid.

I faulted the Bush campaign for not coming into States like mine and asking for votes so the turnout would have been much larger.

I've said it myself a hundred times or more. It was Rove's strategy of going to and spending so much in California and the completely failed appeal to black/Hispanic voters that nearly cost Bush the election.

Rove's fault. He's really overrated. Much in the same way that time has revealed that toe-sucking Dicky Morris was an idiot.

If it were up to Rove, Gore would be president. The only thing that saved us was Jim Baker, possibly the most able man to serve in American government in the last century.

Keep those guns loaded. Klark may hit 10% in NH! Oh, and to buttress my Klarkian Katamite theory, I'll point out that Clark posed in gay cruising drag on the cover of The Advocate which is published...you guessed it...in New York. Ta-da!
