Comments, anyone? Looks like George Cluny's father will have a harder time getting elected to Congress.

Many of them, I can tell you, were DINOs who supported the GOP ticket pretty much from top to bottom in the last election cycle.
However, many of these unnamed career state employees that worked for Patton are just trying to slip in under the radar with their new found party identity. I hope this tactic is viewed with scrutiny in the hiring process.

"Of course any governor is going to appoint people they know and trust, and those people are often political supporters," Luallen said. "But I believe asking the question on the application may imply that the correct registration is a prerequisite and the result might be that you don't necessarily get all the best people to apply." Sounds like she's already starting her gubernatorial campaign.

Let me also add that many state employees were forced to be Democrats and may not have wished to be...I can recall stories of them being afraid to put Republican yard signs in their yard for fear they would be fired.

I know some of those people. If you wanted to work for the state, you registered as a dem. Dems were NOT pro-choice (of party affiliation).

I used to think that too until I got a job in downtown Lexington at a law office. Lots of UK grads touting the finer points of communism/liberalism. Why, just today I debated a fellow employee over the death tax.
