Yeah, I still feel bad that I had to turn down their request to be their model for the statue, but hey, Rob Elliott will do just fine.
Semper fidelis!

"I've never touched a statue before," some of them told the athletic Marine from Buffalo, Okla.
Okies, you just cain't get away from 'em!
I hope they cast a few replacement boots for the statue.
Folks might take to rubbing the tip of the boots for good luck...just like the
statue of Will Rogers in Washington, D.C.

"...just like the statue of Will Rogers in Washington, D.C." As I recall, each state selects two of its native sons whose busts are on display, I believe, in the capitol building.
It's been many years since I've seen the list of states and their pair of representatives. With many states, though, you are left asking "Who? or "Really?"
But Oklahoma, in my estimation, has the best pair: Will Rogers and Sequoyah. Between the two, they pretty well define the state. And favorably so...

""I think people going to a beach are not into that they are more carefree," she said. "They should put it in Camp Pendleton, where they (the Marines) are."
Sarah, those Marines are the reason why you can be such an ingrateful, carefree surfer in the first place.

For sure he's no metrosexual! He appears to be what a man should be. God Bless our military and keep them safe.
