"I've never touched a statue before," some of them told the athletic Marine from Buffalo, Okla.

Okies, you just cain't get away from 'em!

I hope they cast a few replacement boots for the statue.
Folks might take to rubbing the tip of the boots for good luck...just like the
statue of Will Rogers in Washington, D.C.

As I recall, each state selects two of its native sons whose busts are on display, I believe, in the capitol building.

It's been many years since I've seen the list of states and their pair of representatives. With many states, though, you are left asking "Who? or "Really?"

But Oklahoma, in my estimation, has the best pair: Will Rogers and Sequoyah. Between the two, they pretty well define the state. And favorably so...
