Kerry is a Catholic in name only and is not endorsed by the Church or his bishop as far as I know.

Kerry, Ted Kennedy and many, many more have, in my humble opinion, excumunicated themselves from the Church. They have been breaking most of the 10 Commandments so why should they be memebers in good standing? I personally would like to have them see "The Last Passion of Christ" and then observe their reactions.
