My husband amd I were debating Bush's merits. He is an attorney and therefore exposed to a lot of liberal leaning people. I explained to him what the President is doing with homeland security and that he is trying to create the immigrant proposal to document the illegal immigrants who are here to work. He claims that in his practice he sees more people that are jailed and deported for not having proper papers than ever before, accusing Bush of harrassing minorities. I'm not sure if that is statistically true, but I'm sure it's one of many accusations among the liberal crowds against Bush. Thank God Bush does not go along with the "round 'em up and shoot 'em" crowd. Otherwise we will have no chance in the next election. President Bush is truly a compassionate conservative. If he wasn't the mud would stick and we would lose the confidence of many independents.

Well, as long as he gets as many independents by this amnesty plan as he's going to lose in conservative votes, he has nothing to worry about, does he?

As Laura Ingraham said about the Bush amnesty plan: "Now I know the definition of 'compassionate conservative:' a person who campaigns as a conservative, then sells out key conservative principles."

Ma'am, the sad truth is the numbers are up because of the sheer rise in proportion. They're coming in so fast that doubling the amount of deportations currently enforced would still amount to tossing sand back into the ocean. If you would like to make a difference go to the election Primary, ask for a write-in ballot and enter Rep. Tancredo. If enough people do this we can vote for an improved Bush in November (provided this can lift Sauron's spell...er, Vincente Fox's influence).
You all know who Wormtongue is.
