I guess that came off pretty snotty, but what on earth did his post accomplish except frighten some Freepers into watching the news all night for a non-event? I just see those of us concerned about terrorism becoming more and more marginalized because it's creeping into paranoia. Therefore, the legitimate threats will be lumped in with the easily-explained non-events and everyone else will be asleep at the wheel.
There is a grain of truth to the addage that "history repeats itself". The focus is getting skewed from the spectator side of the field, IMHO.

This terror thread does have a reputation; but how many times have you seen posted at FR, in general, things like, "does anyone know what is going on here/there/etc" "See lots of emergency vehicles", "felt an earthquake", "heard a loud noise...."
FR has developed a reputation as a breaking news thread. FR has scoped many services. Along with this, of course we have been wrong too.
