The New York Times reported that the DNC steered $450,000 from international businessman Gilbert Chagoury to Vote Now ’96 and $50,000 from Detroit businessman Samir Danou to the National Coalition on Black Voter Participation, a group working to boost African-American voter registration and turnout.
