I'm coming out of lurkdom having been here watching this forum for the last couple of weeks. First I'd like to say a positive thank you to every one who posts here and obviously work hard to unravel all the information regarding the terrorist issues. Please keep up the good work everyone.

The reason for suspending my lurker activities is this....

IF ANYONE IS UNSURE ABOUT THAT CNV BOARD - Get this.
I have NEVER posted or registered on that board, or any of the jihadi forums, until now I was just a full scale lurker and proud of it. Today I logged into my financial accounts and found that our dear little self proclaimed terrorist EOM has hacked the account and stolen money from my credit card.

Imagine opening an account and finding -'Payment credit card ---Thank you! CC PAYMENT - EOM.

I also had the pleasure of forwarding an email to someone and discovering that all my IE and OE settings had been set to windows English (Arabic). Fortunately I have resolved some of the issues but I am also aware that many people are likely to have been caught out by EOM if their 'puter security like mine was as good as a bucket of holes in a drought!

In one of those messages (on that board in question) it was quite plainly stated 'prepare for thy doom'
The current Doom virus syndrome is very relevent to the EOM (Hacker)scene.

I am of the opinion that EOM is simply a key network terrorist with an aim to create chaos and panic via the internet. I also am of the opinion that this current run of hacker and virus activity IS a precursor to an attack on the USA, designed to bring chaos to financial networks. Most of the emails I have recieved that contain the novarg /doom virus have come from financial websites based in the US and others have come via email addresses with Middle Eastern names (alias's) attached. I could be wrong but very much doubt it in this case. Known and Unknown Terrorist groups are highly likely to have some very highly qualified hackers on board the payroll.

FYI the message which allowed hacker entry to my computer was on CNV entitled 'mama told you not to steal'
If you had clicked on it and others posted at a later date you may well have been caught in the trap.

Please check your accounts if you use any online transaction services and block up any holes in your security.

I hope this makes sense to all those who may think that lurking at and reading those CNV boards is safe. It Aint!

IF this is the same EOM, the situation as described would have to mean that he was registered as a credit card merchant ... ie, that he could accept credit card payments. Although this does not usually require a great deal of creditworthiness or a need to post a financial bond (since you're not actually getting any of the bankcard processor's money), it does require a history of aboveboard financial dealings. Banks and other bankcard processors take a very dim view of fraudulent merchants!! If you're confident that this charge was fraudulent you should report it to your card issuer ASAP - if it's fraud you shouldn't owe anything on it, just a lot of hassle :-(
