About Oil and Minerals.
25 years ago, I was still in the "gotta know everything about mining" mode.
One of the things that I found at the court house here, was that one of the big oil companies had hundreds of oil claims recorded and they were all in the (then) proposed Wilderness Study Area.
I questioned the BLM geologist about it and learned, that it was OK, as the big oil companies could do the needed assessment work, by mapping it from airplanes and he told me how to spot the airplanes that would have the equipment on board to record what was in the ground.
We have found many test holes in the desert and at Wellton, they drilled a hole for oil about 3,000' deep, out in the desert.
A friend who was from Oklahoma and had worked the oil wells there, hung out over at the test hole. He said one night the earth signs were showing that it was right for oil.
Ira went back the next day, to find the well casing had been capped and the rig and all signs of humans were GONE.
This less than 10 miles from my place.
I heard it explained on a radio program that the liberals were correct in saying that we had only 6 months of oil in Alaska.
MAYBE THIS WOULD BE TRUE IF WE DIDN'T CUT THE AMOUNT WE ARE USING, AND DID NOT GET A DROP FROM ELSEWHERE.
Alaska was one of the first area's to be shut down, we were still fighting in Arizona, when reports started coming in that the area was under fences and you would be arrested or shot if you went into them.
Colorado is the same.
The whole thing is wrong and not for a good reason.
Solar energy works, I never understand why we are not using it.
Thank you for posting the articles, it is so frustrating to not be able to do so.

Why would he go to Malaysia for asylum? That is the largest Islamic State. Wouldn't it make more sense to seek asylum in a nonIslamic State?

I did mean to ask you if you can handily recall that website where you can trace friends/family/consorts... remember that? I think it was about #4000 or so on thread 1.

Those FBI guys can read eyes, they are amazing. Did they ever find out if the guard had a gun? First report stated he was "unarmed".

I am afraid that it is not a conspiracy theory, it has happened and much of it is in our laws today.

Whatever torturous route he took top get to Malaysia, he took it from Iran......And he's certainly convinced he doesn't want to go back.
He probably couldn't get to Europe or the US, India and got nowhere at the UNHCR in Malaysia ; so he prolly wasn't seeking asylum there, that's just where he ended up.
There's always a story at the end of the statistic.

>> Solar energy works, I never understand why we are not using it.<<
One of the main reasons is that Solar panels require more energy in their manufacture than they will ever produce in their service life.
Solar, at this time(subject to change of course) is a net loss.
Solar is useful where no other sources of energy are easily available and where the sun is out alot.
Solar is efficient where it simply heats pipes to pre-warm water. Solar panels for electricity are not efficient at all.

Yes, that's it, thank you. Heads up, everybody else, this is an amazing resource for establishing who makes deals with who.
Thanks again, ma'am!

What's the saying . . .
Worrying doesn't help today--it only borrows trouble from tomorrow and dumps it in our laps today and tomorrow . . .
or something like that.
We are only safe in God's hands. And we can be no safer.
Regardless of everything else.
And as St Paul said--to die is gain--to be with The Lord--to Live is Christ--sharing His love with the needy around us.

Gasp, all those men in their easy chairs throwing beer cans at the TV and doing the "Howard scream". I hope the women duck and cover!

>>CO is the real baddie - colorless, odorless, and very poisonous. But don't discount the potential for problems from CO2<<
The difference is that CO2 triggers hyperventilation. As CO2 levels rise, the human body gets really uncomfortable to live in and you will seek fresh air pretty quickly. I'm not saying to seal up a room, fire up a propane heater and go to sleep, but CO is orders of magnitude worse than CO2.
ALWAYS be aware. That said, propane forklifts can run in buildings without issue. Can't say that about Gasoline. The best option for zero emission is electric, but we're talking about heat, not power. Propane can be used indoors with proper monitoring and with adequate air exchange in a particular space. The air exchange doesn't necessarily mean powered ventilation...simply regular leakage. If your house is a standing R-40, you're going to have some problems. My house is probably R-1, heh.
I think we're on the same page, we can however warn people to use propane properly and with good equipment and monitoring so that it's safe.
