You're right Rummy's my guy. I have a friend who hates him and we fight all the time over this. I told him I would put Rummy up against anybody he could think of!!! So far he hasn't taken me up on that.
Also, per my tag line "paranoid" We were sitting outside for lunch by the mountains on the golf course very peacefully and what I think was a red tailed hawk was soaring back and forth over us. My first thought of course was the falcons. But, it was a beautiful site.

Piper, I'm sorry about your brother's passing...I recall a Hanta outbreak and knew you were particularly interested in Hanta but I didn't know your brother was affected. I'm so sorry.
Do you recall the Swine Flu vaccinations from around the mid-70's...I'm trying to find out more. Was there ever an outbreak, etc?

#8 They must attack by 1424 if the prophecy of the Imam Mahdi is to come true. The next time that the lunar and solar eclipses align during the prophecy such as the Qurran states is 1000 years from now. It's not even clear that the eclipses from last year fulfill the prophecy this time. The solar eclipse was not visible from the Middle East; the totality was only visible in the far South Pacific and Antarctica (!). Since a double Ramadan eclipse is not unprecedented, and previous candidates for the Mahdi have been rejected because the totality of one or both eclipses was not visible from Mecca (though some were visible in other areas of the Far East eg India), it seems a bit odd to put so much emphasis on this one. Except that, as he says, this is the last chance for quite some time for that to be fulfilled.

brucecw: Thanks for that tip on Mozilla. I have bookmarked the information for when I get adventurous and take Mozilla for a test spin. Probably in early March (when the threats die down or is that asking for too much? Sigh...)
Do you favor Ad-Aware over Spy-bot? I meant to inquire earlier. I use the free version of Spy-bot; seems to work and it is free! But what do I know? It says it works and it finds stuff (the same stuff over and over and over again...)

I'm watching it also....
Talk about having to find a needle in a haystack!!!
Fascinating stuff....

Sir Ryan sees it exactly as I do. Thanks for that.
To: Mossad1967
That is exactly how I feel.

"Severnaya Amerika" is also the Russian term for "North America"
Severnaya means *North* in Russian
To: Mossad1967
Can't disagree with Ryan's take.
We've stopped attacks. It's obvious they havent' stopped trying. Too many anomalies in the news.
Will they be able to slip through in the CONUS?
I think the Hajj is the place to watch.

"All of a sudden after these rumors of Bin Ladens capture the US Military states that they are postive that they will catch Bin Laden this year.", ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #2 is the one that made me stop and wonder when they reported it. Seems to make one think we just may already have him. I hope we get/got Zawahiri as well.

Can anyone elaborate about the prophecy that must be fulfilled in 1424?The prophecy is that the Imam Mahdi will be revealed after a Ramadan with two (total?) eclipses. Ramadans with two eclipses are by no means rare, which is why there is so much emphasis on total eclipses. There's more to it than that - he will be hidden and revealed around that time or shortly thereafter, he will accept his role reluctantly and only after much persuasion, and so forth. Bin Laden appears all too eager for the role, this alone doesn't fit the prophecy.
The prophecy appears nowhere in the Koran. It is in some of the extra-Koranic texts known as the "Hadith" - this is roughly the Islamic equivalent of the Jewish Talmud or the Kabbalah, or some of the early Christian texts such as the "Shepherd of Hermes" or writings of some of the early Church fathers which were rejected for inclusion in the New Testament. The Hadith are sayings attributed to Mohammud but whose provenance is more dubious than those included in the Koran. Some Muslims consider them inspired and others reject them outright, and some accept only a few of them. The ones relating to the Mahdi are of disputed origin and veracity, even among the Islamic clerics.

Do you favor Ad-Aware over Spy-bot?Both good programs, each will catch some things that the other won't. However I've heard some people having problems with Spy-bot - at least some earlier versions seem to have been rather buggy. I think they've got much of that under control by now.
To: Donna Lee Nardo
OK I can see where the confusion was. First my post # 972, and 973 where totaly seperate posts and topics. I think they were mistaken as being the same. Also some people were doing two part answers(CAL) that threw the chain of posts off. I still hold that the whole thing is really about my post #972. You can clearly see that the only site I reffered to Sean posting at was the final phase forum as per the link.
Very interesting info that Sean has been posting elsewhere:

Yes, there is a free version of ZoneAlarm.
Also, I trust Its Happening. Been on that site for quite some time. It is highly monitored. I wouldn't worry about anything you may hear about it, but it is your choice. I do fear that a good way to keep people away from other informative sites is by saying that. If you are talking about spyware, well that is all over the web. Get Spybot. There is nothing malicious or intrusive over at Its Happening, right jstolzen? I mean, either it is or it isn't. There should be no shades of gray about it. Calpernia, what do you think? jstolzen and Calpernia: can you 2 techies please investigate it and come to a conclusion and inform us? Other techies are welcome to help draw an informed conclusion. The site is itshappening.com. Also, some would like to know about

I never said anything about Its Happening. I've never been to that board. When I warning about posting boards, I specifically spoke of disc.server, Current News & Views.
If anyone had problems at Its Happening, that is outside of my knowledge.
As to why Sean is posting there? I can't always follow the method of his madness.

It's not important whether we believe that the prophecies are being fulfilled, what is important is whether Bin Laden Inc believes that he is destined to fulfilled those prophecies. If so then he can manipulate quite a few events to make it appear that he does meet the criteria.
I personally think he does believe it, and that's based on a pretty extensive understanding and knowledge of Islamic history, religion, and culture, as well and the language.
There are so many conflicting hadiths on those eclipses that its just a matter of picking the right one.
But Bin Laden is not in control of everything, no matter how hard he tries.
