Thank God you feel it...it's our only hope that we feel this, and listen to intuition and that we not totally rely on analysis. Wahabism is evil but behind that, socialism is also evil and we are up against warfare on many levels. Do you think today's law enforcement see and feel this battle racheting up on their turf? How compromised (what % would you estimate) is the local level across the country with the drug problem? And then there is the orchestrated union problem.

During the night of June 8, an average of 27 inches of rain fell on the Houston metropolitan area. Rain-swollen bayous overflowed their banks, making rivers of the city's major expressways and thoroughfares. Basements, underground tunnels and parking garages downtown and in the Texas Medical Center flooded, knocking out backup generators. Two-thirds of the buildings downtown were without power, and the Med Center was totally without power.

Reliant had an emergency operating plan in place which provided the basis for its restoration effort, according to the panel of judges who chose the winners. The underground emergency response team was trained to go in and clear up circuits and restore cable connections under very difficult conditions. In some cases, cable lines were totally submerged in water.

The excavation of water from building basements was logistically the most challenging task Reliant faced, the panel said. Reliant crews borrowed large pumps from Reliant Energy power plants.

At the peak of the recovery effort, Reliant crews were running more than 80 pumps, ultimately pumping out an estimated 172 million gallons of water.

Reliant personnel worked 12- to 24-hour days, seven days a week for three weeks.

"Reliant's restoration effort was remarkable," Kuhn said in announcing the award. "It was a very difficult process that was managed well from the beginning."

This is damn addictive. Since I don't smoke in the house, this has actually cut down on my smoking.

Oh, well, to business: The thing that keeps going through my mind is that if something along the lines of what we have been discussing actually does happen, I will have lost complete confidence in our government to assess situations and protect us.

Not that I have a whole bunch of confidence now.

But the simple fact of the matter is that there are very few people I can discuss these issues with without looking as if I'm some kind of paranoid freak.

I really feel that the media has proven that we need alternate news sources and this is just one instance.
