[history]
The House Militia, Police and Public Safety Committee kept up its reputation yesterday as the burying ground for bills considered hostile to the state's gun laws.
The committee rejected a bill in a 12-7 vote that would have let local school boards decide, after holding a public hearing, whether they want to establish gun-free school zones.

The more I think about it, I like the idea of grabbing illegal aliens for possession of guns. It should force the Feds to deport them.
It appears that Virginia has its share of RINOs.

Don't want to be breaking any laws while committing murder, now.

"We have school systems across Virginia who are concerned, deeply concerned, about the ability of having guns on their property," said the bill's sponsor, Del. James H. Dillard II, R-Fairfax. "All this bill does is say local school boards would have the opportunity to make that kind of decision."Just another misguided person who believes that disarming law-abiding citizens will elimanate guns on a school campus. Of course, all criminals, and folks with criminal intent will immdiately obey a new law and not take their guns to schools./sarcasm

This reporter never reports any pro gun rights views - I've observed her reporting for several years - very one sided. Always more gun rights reps and citizens at these hearings.

They just never get it. They live in a land of make-believe.

Dolts--useful idiots--whatever! It is so hard for me to even try to understand the way these people reason. I honestly can't see their logic--and I'm sure that they are "very nice" people who want to "save the childrun" and all that.
While I'm here, I want to let every one know that I have read your book, Travis--and it's the best thing I have read in a long time. It's a real page turner--couldn't put it down! Freepers everywhere will want to read this book: Enemies Foreign and Domestic.

Thanks Basil!
I think this "pass a law = no school shootings" is perfect proof of the shallowness of what passes for liberal thinking.
