I don't like saying this, but my take is that this is giving him credibility. Almost everyone believes that Vietnam was a botched effort; Kerry comes off looking like a man of conviction.

Please, prove me wrong.

It makes him look like a communist to me. Of course that isn't nearly the insult it used to be and at the current rate in 15-20 years in might be a compliment

Sure you can call Kerry "a man of conviction" because he took a stand against the war.

But don't call the war a botched effort. All the men that died in Vietnam deserve more than that. And Kerry as a leader should recognize that. It is really easy to follow a popular movement with your peers, its another to stand for what is right. And I don't believe he knows what is right.
