Isn't the Courier-Journal owned by the NYT?
If it's not, it should be.

I didn't read this whole article, but have to comment on one observation made at the beginning.
Jim Bunning joined the Phillies in 1964 (I can't imagine they were favored that year) and pitched great all year, but his perfect game came the following summer (1965) against the Mets. So much for fact-checking by a major newspaper.

According to most of the media conservatives get by with luck and liberals are skillful and adroit. Just take the media's comparison between Bush and Clinton as an example.

Bunning won 100 games in both the American and National Leagues, he pitched a no hitter in both leagues, and retired second to Walter Johnson in strikeouts. On May 10, 1967, Hank Aaron hit the only inside-the-park home run of his career, off Bunning. He also was one of just a few pitchers in history to win a 1-0 game and also drive in the only run with a home run.

Bunning seems more conservative, and more pro-gun, than bush.

Bunning also pitched no-hitters in both circuits, including a perfect game at Shea Stadium on Father's Day in 1964. Jim Bunning's perfect game of 1964 was the first such gem pitched in the National League since 1880?

I beg every Freepers' apology... My recollection was wrong... it was 1964. The Phillies' collapse at the end of that season (I was a young fan at the time) must have distorted my memories. Bunning did have a spectacular season until Manager Gene Mauch just over-worked all those starters and it caught up with them in that last awful week.

*Loud laughter from one who was born in Louisville and raised about 30 minutes southeast of the Derby City* Damn I couldn't have said it better myself...

The Louisville Communist-Urinal was assimilated in 1986 by Gannett.
The Socialist banner includes:
Louisville C-J;
USA Today;
Army Times;
Navy Times;
Air Force Times
and a few others that slip my mind.
All bearing the Leftist editorial slant we've come to know. And the service papers are the most heinous part of the deal: bad news to the troops abroad.
