Bush has cancelled the trip to KY to campaign for Kerr (as promised by McConnell last month) and rescheduled a Bush/Cheney fundraiser in Louisville until after the special election. That says a lot to me about what the White House believes her chances are.

Unfortunately, as much as it pains me to say it, I don't see us keeping this seat and must hope we can take it back in November. Chandler has done an annoyingly effective job out here going after the veterans and Kerr has offered ZERO resistance and, oddly, has not fought back. Tuesday is the filing deadline for the fall election, so hopefully McConnell will put someone in there who can whoop Chandler's ass in the fall.

So is this Chandler's way of saying, "The southern states are really, really screwed up"?

Have a childhood friend living in Kentucky. I sent her your post and asked her views. Waiting to hear from her.

So, are you saying that the name ID trumps party politics? That's what Robert D.S. Novak wrote last week in a column in his "Evans-Novak Political Report." People vote for the better-known candidate unless the other candidate can first demonize him and drive up his negatives. It sounds like Kerr is no better of a campaigner than was her most capable brother, Larry Forgy, doesn't it? One can't win a competitive seat by "being nice." Nice guys (and ladies) finish last!!!!

Isn't Clark really, like his friend HillaryRodham, a native of IL?

The Republican Party of Kentucky is attacking Clark for some reason as of late. I don't know if this is some sort of a prelude to connecting him to Chandler or what. There's a press release on the front page of the party website from the chairman attacking Clark, but no mention of Chandler: http://www.rpk.org

My guess is that her own campaign ads will remain "nice" and the NRCC will become "mean" in their TV ads in the final weeks of the campaign.

Kerr has met with veteran's groups, and as far as I know that fundraiser in Louisville was always scheduled for the time that it is. There wasn't a scheduled campaign appearance set in stone for Bush to be "cancelled", so I'm not sure what LexingtonGOP is talking about.
