MELBOURNE, Australia, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- A mysterious photo has sparked a UFO frenzy in north Melbourne, Australia.
Roland Rozario, a council officer, was doing a routine survey of a railway level crossing with a colleague last week, taking 10 or 12 photos, reports the Melbourne Herald Sun.

definate fake. I alter photos digitally all the time in order to remove blemishes and such. You can see the tale-tale indications of these in the photo including the tip of the craft where obviously a smoothing tool feathered it a bit.

the area around the enlarged "saucer" does look exactly like when you edit a digital photo and the pixels around the inserted image don't match up with the surrounding pixels. At least with simple photo editing software, it's difficult to straighten out the pixels on the edges.

"All but your last point are valid..."I sure hope I am sensing sarcasm here, but just to be sure, we DO KNOW that the UFO on the left (you know, the one with the "faint rectangular line" around it?) is a blown up image of the UFO on the right, correct?
But then again, this is down under and it might just be that the one with the faint rectangular line is the actual photo and the rest of the picture is the zoomed down version...

"The are only 12 months in a year, and the date stamp shows this picture was taken on the first day of the 15th month in 2004"Actually, the Australians use the military calendar. There are 24 months. The 13th is January, the 14th is February and the 15th is March! Sheesh, everybody knows THAT!....

That's the one I'm talking about! You mean there's ANOTHER UFO somewhere in the picture? That's just asking too much.

Worse than that...there are only 52 weeks in a year.

Oh yeah -- some definite photoshopping going on here. Now someone has removed the "UFO" from the picture and filled the background in with sky. It looks like they may have tried to make it much smaller, have moved it over to the right some so you can't see the problems I mentioned earlier, and have even worked some more to remove the boxy outline that was so apparent when it was larger and on the left. I smell Photoshop.

The lighting on the "UFO" is different than the lighting on the rest of the scene. The scene has the sun shading all objects from the background, whereas the "UFO" is highlighted from the right side of the foreground.
To: FreedomCalls
The "UFO" has a faint rectangular white outline around it. Your powers of observation and logical deduction are amazing.
