"...20/20 has always been on Friday..." Sorry, it premiered June 6, 1978 - Tuesday, hosted by Harold Hayes and Robert Hughes (who & WHO?) for the first telecast, replaced with Hugh Downs on the second episode.

Money cannot buy happiness but it sure can rent it for a while.

This is like that comedian who says "I hate people who say life is short...Life is short? Do you know anything that`s longer than your life? Do people say, whoa, this subway is taking longer to get here than my life!..Man, waiting on this shopping line is taking longer than my life!..Wow, driving to work is taking longer than my life!"

The low humidity that usually comes with cold temperatures can dry out your mucus membranes making you more susceptible to colds. Still, it helps to wash your hands and most of all: Avoid anyone with a cold.

Old saying: "Whoever said that you can't buy happiness forgot about puppies."
To: Steve Eisenberg
I think that UNEARNED money doesn't buy happiness. Earned money buys a little.I wonder if it's really true... Earned money, through work, will bring one a sense of accomplishment and pride, but happiness? Maybe doing something that you feel worthwhile with the money might bring happiness...
I don't know. I'd like the chance to find out, though...
I've always been partial to the phrase, "Money won't buy you happiness, but it will rent you some!"

'Til he knows everything.HUH? That isn't it at all, it doesn't even make sense.
The lyric is about boundless appetites for more, and the elusive sense of 'enough:'
Poor men want to be rich,
Rich men want to be king.
And a king ain't satisfied,
'Til he rules everything.
Reminds me of the line from the Jimi Hendrix classic, "Purple Haze." "`Scuse me, while I kiss this guy!"
Or the ever popular song, "Bald Headed Woman," by the Bee Gees!

Taxing them and redistributing the wealth will only make everyone poor, and then only the government will have money. That beneifits no one.Exactly... A great example of the simpleminded, socialist mindset can be found in the 1960's song, "I'd love to change the world," by Ten Years After. There's a line in it that goes, "tax the rich. feed the poor. `till there are no rich no more." From this line, you can see that the hoped for result isn't the end of poverty, but the end of "the rich."

On the show, Stossel's laim what that after $50,000 earned income additional money cannot be correlated to additional happiness. I can believe that - once the first few levels of Maslow's Hierarchy are provided, the rest has little to do with money, and a lot to do with personal outlook.

The rich pay a lot b/c they get a lot of income. The nastiest of the predatory rich also have got the govt. not counting a lot of the $$$ they receive as "income." The tax code is over 14,000 pages. Not for the enrichment of the middle class... "The rich" pay far more than their share. The top 1% pay 34% of all income taxes. The top 5% pay over 50% of all income taxes.

... at about ten below, the snot freezes right up and your nose stops running ... Such weather has been rare in my life but I know what you mean. While walking around in minus 15 degree temps--this was in Northern Virginia!--during a spectacularly cold winter back in the 80s, I noticed I was accumulating a stiff, crackling, coat of ice on my beard and mustache. Instant condensation.

You mean Caddies for administrators? No, buses. If you look at the typical public school budget, the expenses related to buses, drivers, mechanics, garages and related expenses is one of the highest costs.

The cost of owning, operating and maintenace of buses does not account for as much as you think. Just go to your local ISD office and ask for a budget and THEN have the business manager show you how much is spent on what. Ask specific questions, because the financial statement is intended to conceal expenditures.
