Do all people who admit drug addiction ask the DA for a deal?

Few people who are addicted to painkillers have a criminal investigation against them.

All I'm trying to figure out is why anybody who claims they are innocent and are being persecuted would ask for any type of deal to a prosecutor.

That's ALL I want to know. I've been asking it for weeks.

True, and the same can be said for tax cheats and insider traders. There are not enough prosecutors, judges, courtrooms, and jail cells to prosecute everyone. The government tends to prosecute high profile cases in the hopes of discouraging similar conduct among the masses.

"Few people who are addicted to painkillers have a criminal investigation against them."

That's right, but the docs do get in trouble. That's why the docs tend to be stingy with the pain meds. Then the patient does whatever they can to get relief, which is to get the pills. Seems that Rush was disatisfied with the way certain docs were treating him. That means they didn't fix whatever med condition Rush had.

The DA is hinting that Rush was breaking FL law by seeing many docs just to get pills. That's not the case. The DA knows it, else he would prosecute. Instead he's bluffing and trying the case in the media. Rush's atty. is simply trying to get the DA to agree to stop the harassment.

If that were true my ex-wife would be in jail. Instead, she spent over 6 figures for 3 years on pain killers, doctors, and pharmacies. She NEVER broke any laws, only our marriage.

I think that is enough punishment.
