We sent them a letter suggesting Mr. Limbaugh be treated in a similar manner that others had been treated.

"Others" what? Who? Why would you offer to deal for something you claim you are innocent of?

A reporter on MSNBC read Black's letter on the air today; Black made the initial overture for a deal.

Lawyerspeak. IMO, Black is making this worse.

Others who have admitted to pain killer addiction. Although not specifically in Florida, Brett Farve comes to mind as a celebrity who admitted the problem.

The deal was in regard to his already admitted addiction. In return for assurances that Rush's addiction would be adequately addressed, the SAO would drop any further pretext of an investigation.

"Others" what?

Others addicted to prescription pain killers. Of these most are not subject to:

Leaks from the prosecutors about running a "drug ring"--an investigation which seems to have been DOA.

Leaks from the prosecutors about "money laundering"--another DOA investigation.

The confiscation of personal doctors records to try to find something to nail him on.

Leaks from the prosecutors about "doctor shopping", and a leaked offer for plea bargain from the prosecutor, while the week before the prosecutor had admitted that the "investigation" was "stalled" when the courts took back Rush's medical records on Constitutional grounds.

I anticipate that Rush will finally be convicted of something or other...perhaps "Christmas Shopping". Perhaps the prosecutor should subpoena his credit card records.

Why would you offer to deal for something you claim you are innocent of?

What deal are you talking about? The only deal one might reasonably infer is that the prosecutor stops the jihad in return for him not getting his ass sued.

The statory provided for FL drug court intervention program is a pre-trial intervetion program which allows treatment in lieu of prosecution. No admission. The end of treatment results in the case being dropped. Not dismissed. Just dropped.

The only requirement is an admission for the need of treatment, something Rush has done.

This was a win win negotiation. The SA wants a felony conviction to keep Rush off his civil rights.

This is SOP with a user case. Find out the intent of the prosecutor. In this case the prosecutor office has no interest in reason, only political gain. It was an absurd offer designed to elicit a rejection. The SA tipped the press to gain futher political gain. Its all BS.
