And how would you describe getting information on a Federal drug disapproval from the head of the company and/or his wife before the public release of the info? A normal trading opportunity? Ms. Stewart was a stockbroker. She knows the rules and she willingly broke them. She then tried to play the victim. It's pathetic and she deserves a long jail sentence with her buddy, Waksal. But then she clearly thinks that she's above the law -- and why not, she hangs with all the "best" people.

You don't have a clue as to what she is charged with do you? I will give you a hint...she isn't charged with insider trading.

Facts are such a pain in the ass, but I insist you go get some if you wish to continue this conversation.

If I recall correctly, insider trading laws don't apply to this situation as she is not, technically speaking, an insider (she's not a corporate officer, board member etc.).

As you will probably be reminded many times, SHE'S NOT CHARGED WITH INSIDER TRADING. The gov't cannot prove she did what you said. So they didn't charge her with it. How do you know she did it?

She is being prosecuted for pleading innocent.

Whatever stock trading crimes Martha is really guilty of....there are at least 500,000 other Americans who are just as guilty, if not more. Hillery had her little options profit...which she made tons of money off of....yet never went back again...hmmmm, sounds like insider trading to me. You can go across every major company, and there are people who get whispered statements...and buy stock to watch it increase over a 30 day period by 10 percent, and then sell. And what of these people? Nothing. Give Martha 30 days of duty at some folks home in Oklahoma and a fine of $20k and go back to watching NCAA basketball. 99 percent of America could care less what happens to Martha.
