Ex-U.S. Arms Hunter Kay Says No Stockpiles in Iraq
Add Top Stories - Reuters to My Yahoo!
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - David Kay, who stepped down as leader of the U.S. hunt for weapons of mass destruction, said on Friday he does not believe there were any large stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons in Iraq
"I don't think they existed," Kay told Reuters in a telephone interview. "What everyone was talking about is stockpiles produced after the end of the last (1991) Gulf War (news - web sites) and I don't think there was a large-scale production program in the '90s," he said.
Kay said he believes most of what is going to be found in the search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq has been found and that the hunt will become more difficult once America turns over governing the country to the Iraqis.
The United States went to war against Baghdad last year citing a threat from Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. No actual banned arms have been found.

Reply No. 140 on this thread was the fruit of many a Freeper's labor. Thanks to all!

Furthermore, Ossama Bin Laden is still free (and God knows where he is now) and plotting. I would have said rebuilding too, but there's little evidence to suggest that Al Qaida was ever 'unbuilt' by the Afghanistan campaign. Ummm, U.S.-led Coalition forces have killed or captured roughly three-fourths of al-Qaeda's leadership. Their operations in the past two years have lacked the logistics, planning, and complexity of previous attacks. You two need to pay attention to facts instead of stroking each others' fevered egos.

Still using insulting names I see, John.

Using logic in debate with Galt's kind is futile. I don't know why I keep getting suckered into it. He was arguing with me yesterday that Johnny Cash and Ken Kesey were right-wing purists and that I'm a left-wing Marxist!
To: HenryLeeII
Very, very well done. It won't satisfy the trolls of course, who seem to think the entire thing is a conspiracy. But, those people probably also believe the moon landing was a hoax so we needn't take them seriously. LOL

I must have missed something along the way
Im not saying that to be flippant
I REALLY must have missed something. Stop me when I go wrong:
Iraq Invaded Kuwait
The UN authorized a coalition to run Iraq out
Iraq made an agreement for a cease fire
Part of that agreement was for weapons inspectors
They didnt uphold the agreement
We went back in and finished the job
and
Iraq had WMD
They never let the inspector verify that they got rid of them
We can reasonably assume they still had them

I have asked you several times to spell out the difference between Hussein having WMD programs and WMD stockpiles, and you can't. I have asked you several times to show me actual quotes of President Bush stating that we were going to war solely on the basis of actual WMD stockpiles, and you can't. You lack basic factual information relevant to this debate, and when I wipe the floor with you and run circles around you, you slink off without replying to my questions. Not the sign of a real man in my book.
To: TankerKC
No no no!!! You can't use logic in this issue! Please contact JohnGalt and he'll inform you as to why you, like myself, are a feminized Right Wing Marxist WMDeadEnder! ;>)
To: Peach
Thank you. But please don't tell me you believe that we actually landed on the moon in 1969! Don't you know that the whole thing was a hoax concocted by Gene Roddenberry in order to drum up intersest in space, which was essential in getting his recently-canceled Star Trek series syndicated? Please contact JohnGalt for details, or else you'll remain a feminized Right Wing Marxist WMDeadEnder! ;>) Besides, the esteemed Congressperson Sheila Jackson Lee let the cat out of the bag when she slipped and said that we landed on Mars...
To: HenryLeeII
LOL. You've spent too much time arguing and being name-called by "that person who shall remain nameless"...don't go all conspiracy theory on me now. Best laugh of the day.

You spell it out correctly. The rats, however, are going to claim that that was not the argument the administration made to go into Iraq.
To: HenryLeeII
Nice job on #140, Henry. Well done.

The rats, however, are going to claim that that was not the argument the administration made to go into Iraq. How quickly they forget their own arguments. Before the invasion they said that the UN needed more time and that containment was working. No one was saying that he didn't have WMD.

Thank you. Once in a while I get cranked up for a reply like that, and as I've said before, the help of many Freepers is always needed and appreciated!
To: Ditto
Thank you. Do you mind if I cut-and-paste your reply into some of my secession arguments? ;>)
