When Bush Loses In November, He Will Have No One To Blame But Himself

By Chuck Baldwin

Food For Thought From The Chuck Wagon

January 23, 2004 Let me be the first one to say it: President Bush is on track to lose in November, and it won't matter who his Democratic opponent is. His fabrications, deceptions, and prevarications are just too much to stomach. His duplicity rivals anything in the previous administration, a Republican name plate notwithstanding.

It's hard to think of anything this president has done right. His policies are every bit as socialist (or fascist) as the most liberal Democrat. We have lost more freedoms during the last three years than we had lost during the previous thirty! Even though Bush has enjoyed Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, neither conservatives nor constitutionalists can point to a single victory Bush has given them. Not one!

Babies are still being aborted at an escalating rate. The Bush administration has done as much (or more) to promote the homosexual agenda as any Democrat. Bush has proliferated the growth of federal spending and corresponding federal deficits to levels not seen in decades. Furthermore, he has created the embryo of a giant Orwellian police state while at the same time offering amnesty and legitimacy to foreign criminals who have invaded our country. If all of that isn't bad enough, Bush even threw his support behind the Clinton gun ban!

Due to Bush's dismal record, the Democratic nominee (whoever he is) will have to work at losing this election. The facade of a "wartime" president is wearing thin. Moreover, gas and oil prices have skyrocketed since oilmen Bush and Cheney rode into Washington, D.C. In addition, without a willingness to cut spending, Bush's tax cuts are a fraud! And now Bush wants to spend an additional billion dollars annually (where this money is coming from nobody knows) to send men to Mars. Get real!

Beyond that, Bush has repeatedly stated that his war against Iraq was fought for the purpose of "enforcing the demands of the United Nations." Now, isn't that lovely? Does he really expect us to re-elect him President of these United States after hearing that he ordered more than 500 brave, patriotic Americans to die in Iraq on behalf of the UN? Does he think we are a bunch of morons? He must.

G.W. Bush deserves to be a one-term president. And the truth is, the nation won't be worse off with a Democratic replacement. At least with a Democrat in the White House, Republicans in Congress might decide to actually oppose liberal policies.

With a liberal Democrat in the White House, a president might get 40% of his agenda through Congress. Bush, on the other hand, will get 80% of his policies through Congress, and Bush's policies are every bit as bad as any liberal Democrat's. So, you tell me who is actually "the lesser of two evils."

(If you would like to track the ongoing Bush record, go to http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/bushrecord.html.)

Therefore, when Bush loses in November, he will have no one to blame but himself.

I'm not voting for Bush and I'm 100% happy about it.

Nobody give's a rat's a** about your happiness, Kev. Nobody.

Oh please.

You must have been asleep during the Clinton Administration. Clinton made lying, scheming, cheating and misleading a fine art. Bush is not even in his class. Nobody is.

Baldwin is working for the Constitution Party. He should disclose that in every column.

Is this true? I have been looking into the Constitution Party and it has been a tough time getting info or insight. I know all parties have their fringe, I sure hope this is the case hear.

LOL!

It's easy to see how Hillary got a few votes in one of the FR polls.

I intend to hold Bush accountable for the decline of affordable health care in America.

First blame for the high cost of health care goes to the Trial Lawyers and the moronic juries who serve them.

TORT REFORM is desperately needed.

IIRC, an OBGYN here in Pennsylvania pays approximately $80,000 per year for malpractice insurance. That's not a typo. Eighty grand.

Every cloth has its fringe. In the case of Bush-bashers, it's all fringe and no cloth.

Amen to that, Jim!

I wish I had some devastatingly witty comment to take this Clymer down a couple of pegs, but I am afraid I do not. All I can say is that this article qualifies as a blivet - five pounds of horse manure stuffed into a one-pound bag.

That's just it. Bush hasn't fabricated anything. He hasn't prevaricated one bit! He's the closest thing you can get to a Democrat and still have an (R) next to your name... maybe, but everyone knew this BEFORE he took office.

He said he would give trillions in socialized health care away. He's doing it. He was for some type of "program" to legitamize illegal aliens from Mexico, he's doing it. He said he'd cut taxes, while promising every special interest group out there more cash, he did it. He said he'd kick Saddam's arse, he did it.

The guy is nothing if not honest. He sticks to his word and means what he says.

If his press secretary was accurate, and if a AWB re-newal bill comes before him... he'll sign that as well.

But we KNEW all this. That his "compassionate conservatism" was only a "lesser evil". What everyone needs to ask now is, how comfortable are you with him now that you know that he isn't really as conservative as quite a few of us would like?

I didn't vote for him before. Because of principle, I can't vote for him this time either. Tancredo will be a write-in candidate on my ballot.

Wow. What world does this guy live in.

What does he do that he has lost freedoms. The Patriot Act has had no effect whatsoever on my freedoms. The only difference I have ever noticed is that it takes a little longer for me to get on base (big whoop) and I cant wear my Leatherman when boarding a flight anymore. Doesn't phase me.

What does he know that makes Bush personally responsible for people who get abortions. As I recall, the only abortion legislation (one way or the other) that has hit his desk was the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban which he signed into law.

Now I admit that I'm not in favor of his decision to continue gun bans and I don't like giving immunity to people who have entered the country illegally, but I never expect to completely agree with my elected officials. That's why I send e-mails, and write letters when I disagree. I'm never going to find a politician that completely agrees with me because there is no one like me.

I'm also have enough sense to realize how I can make things a lot worse. And when I do disagree I don't go off into mindless and inaccurate rants like this Balwin guy just did.

I guess he would consider it just peachy if Madame HamHocks had gotten her healthcare socialization, just so long as it was overthrown after we are all dead and buried.

Baldwin did not mention Supreme Court appointments

Baldwin must be happy with liberal activist judges legislating from the bench.

Good thing Bush is not going to lose.

Except that he is. Not entirely for the reasons listed in the article.

He needs *every* vote he got last time *plus more*. He isn't getting them. Not even close.

The democrats are going to pull out the stops to mobilize their voters like you've never seen. They're not going to be the sit-at-home, unmotivated individuals you saw in 2000.

I've got a shiny 1999 Caymen Islands quarter (I guess it's a quarter - it says "25" on it) that says he loses. I've been dying to unload it, but have never been able to. I'm willing to wager it.

How do you know that the Patriot Act hasn't affected you? Do you have a Nanny Cam that could catch government agents doing a warrentless "sneak and peak" on your house? They wouldn't even have to let you know they were there until they come to arrest you. How about On Star in your cars? Cell phones? Gone anywhere "indiscrete" on the internet?

Give 'em an inch and they will figure a way to take mile. With the Patriot Act, they got much more than an inch. It may not bite us with Bush, but he won't be President forever.
