When one of my wife's cousins was pregnant without benefit of a husband and contemplating abortion, I wrote her a lengthy letter imploring her not to follow through with it.

Unfortunately she did.

I saw her several years later when she was married. A different man. She and he have two children and I remarked how beautiful they were. She thanked me for the compliment and then fell very silent. She said she is still haunted by a dream of the aborted child. It meets her when she dies and takes her by the hand. It scares her awake every time.

Something along that line is VERY common for post abortive women. No one talks about it.
