First, we are against illegals. You can still have Mexican migrant workers, they just need to come into the country legally. Also, what about putting people on unemployment to work for the time being? Ever hear of machinery, they can help reduce the dependance on migrant workers.

Really, how can you bring them into the country legally if they are already here? Hmmmmm. That is kinda like "we broke the speed of light, but we did not move".

Really, which crops? Can you justify that statement?

Did I say that they were given an option to do so? The government could make it a requirement that after so long on unemployment, you will have to work for farmers until you are able to find a different job. This would light a fire under people to get a job.

I know of farmers that do not have any migrant workers, they are doing just fine.

I'm sure right after the civil war people wondered how we'd have cotton without slaves too. That seemed to have been worked out though eventually and the farmers could work it out now too.
