The economy was today's hot topic, as the President spoke with participants during a discussion on job training and the economy at Owens Community College in Perrysburg Township, Ohio.
He traveled on to Phoenix to attend a discussion on job training and the economy at Mesa Community College, the day after announcing in his State of the Union address a $250 million proposal for new job-training grants channeled through community colleges.
The White House hosted its second "Radio Day" on Wednesday as an opportunity for local and national radio hosts to interview White House officials and Cabinet members. Full story.
Tomorrow, the President's Economic Advisor Greg Mankiw will discuss the economy on Ask the White House tomorrow at 1:30pm. Submit questions here.
Karen Hughes was today's guest on Ask the White House.
Laura Bush spoke to reporters at Discovery Middle School after visiting a seventh-grade Learning Strategies class in Orlando, Florida. She also took part in a roundtable discussion of research-based education methods for literacy challenged students.

Joan Rivers is a fan of Bush's??? Never would have guessed that! What did she say?
To: ilovew
I know what you mean. I was in the 3rd row from the stage at one of his 2000 fundraisers and when he walked by, shaking hands(fingertips, in my case),profound, intelligent words came from my mouth....'we love you, Mr. President'. Ewwwwwwwww. Felt like an idiot....but the words were true.

Hi Deb! Long time since I've crossed paths with you. Is all well with you?

We did giggle didn't we? I don't usually giggle. Not my style. But we had something to giggle about that night. I'll always cherish that time together, and Eric was a big part of why it is so memorable. I'll never forget how he seemed to actually enjoy being with this old lady. Young men don't usually feel comfortable with old ladies. He was so sweet, and helpful too. Couldn't help but love him.

Did you see what my hair dresser has in mind? Am having trouble picturing it......It'll be a while. Have decided it will be a treat when fewer pounds register on the bathroom scale.
Hopefully those miles walked with do the trick. It's just that in the last two months two people have asked if my friend is my daughter. (She's only five years younger) The white hair is stiking but......

It's AWESOME when articulate, enthusiastic supporters like you and your husband actually get interviewed -- unlike the nurse from hell quoted in the Detroit News article I posted a day or two ago!!
And yes, we ALL need to ACTIVELY support the President this election cycle -- I voted for George W Bush in 2000, but didn't campaign for him. Actually, this is the FIRST time that I have cared passionately enough about a politician/president to do WHATEVER it takes to get him re-elected!

Your hair looks great, don't do anything wierd to it while I'm gone. I currently have no hair, but i'm getting grayer every day!

No, I must have missed that. I was completely white for about three or four years, but I got sick of it and went back to red. I look and feel 10 years younger. Ask ohioWfan. She saw me both ways. The 45 lb weight loss has helped too. Atkins is the quickest way to lose weight. My hubby and I have both decided to live on the Atkins method because we feel better, keep the weight off and don't have to count calories. Never hungry.

I'm still on my manic cleaning; you know it's bad when you but the scrapbooks/photo albums in chronological order . . . :-)
Are you sure you're not pregnant? LOL Sounds like nesting syndrome, if I've ever heard it. ;-)
I'm having short bursts of cleaning energy. I've been stuck at home for 2 weeks fighting off a respiritory something or other, and have cabin fever BAD.

"Her response was, of course, YES, to which she added, "My Mom has EVERY word George W. Bush has ever said on tape!"
Actually, my daughter would (and has) said the same thing!!!! To which I say: We know a GREAT president when we see and hear one!!!

You know, I don't usually giggle either, but we couldn't seem to help it that night!
As for Eric, he really liked you, Nan. He's comfortable with EVERYone........kids to seniors.
He really IS a good boy, isn't he?

. . . unfortunately, I had to race out the door (late for work) so I didn't hear anything beyond the fact that she supported the President!
