Cuomo: Bush Ties to Bin Ladens Compromised War on Terror
NewsMax ^ | 1/21/04 | Limbacher

Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo charged Wednesday that President Bush made Saddam Hussein the U.S.'s number one target in the war on terror in part because his family had business dealings with relatives of Osama bin Laden.

On hand to discuss the 2004 presidential election at a 21 Club breakfast with a panel of guests that included "60 Minutes" correspondent Leslie Stahl, radio host Monica Crowley, Democratic consultant Robert Zimmerman and commentator Bay Buchanan, Cuomo excoriated Bush for mishandling both the economy and the war on terror, complaining at one point:

"Who's winning the war on terrorism? The whole world is mad at us."

Then, addressing Bush in absentia, the former New York governor railed:

"You killed 60,000 Iraqis - most of them innocent - to start that war in Iraq. You lost 1,000 American men and women to start that war in Iraq - when the real war on terrorism was against Osama bin Laden, something that you knew well, whose family you had dealt with in Saudi Arabia."

Sounding eager to rejoin the political battle, the retired Democratic Party elder statesman continued to blast Bush:

"You left that battle and left al Qaeda there to fight a tyrant who was a pushover for us. And you're going to tell me you think the war on terror was a good thing?"

Asked to explain his claim that President Bush had dealings with the bin Ladens, Cuomo cited a New York Times report that noted that both Bush's father and members of bin Laden's family belonged to the Carlyle Group, a global investment company.

"The story astonished me," Cuomo said. "There's no question that Osama bin Laden's family was invested in Carlyle, Carlyle was invested in Mideast oil and everybody knows it. And so was the first president Bush."

We are involved in a war to save Western Civilization. All the RATS care about is their power. They are shameless b*st*rds.

To his credit, Coumo is not the usual fat democratic dork, just a democratic dork of more moderate size, physically speaking, of course.

Astonishing. And it must be the theory of the day, because I read an editorial today about the same thing, that Al Quaida and President Bush are in cahoots and that Al Quaida is going to strike again before the election, or maybe not, it all depends on what will work to get Bush re-elected. The Dems have lost their minds.

On the other hand, they do have the fact thatt we have been entirely too nice to the Saudi funders of terror, but in that regard the Democrats have been no better than the Republicans. We have had no top leaders in either party that have shown much leadership in ending our dependence on Middle Eastern oil. You cannot point to a single thing that Mario the Bombastic did, for example, to help with that problem. Now he wants to lie about Bush without offering a single suggestion as to how we might have dealt more effectively with Bin Laden to this point. Can anyone think of a single Democratic leader who has done anything practical to lessen our dependence on foreign oil or assist in actually winning the War?

On the other hand, the binnys and all the other Saudis have for years enabled Osama and all his ilk on the theory that if they directed their primitive, mindless, vicious bigotry and hatred toward us and others they'd leave the Saudi elite alone. Their chronic duplicity and dissembling in this regard has not been helpful.

Even more important is the War to save American civilization, which so many democrats dislike so much they not only seek to undermine it but refuse to admit that it evcen exists.

And what was CBS's LESLIE STAHL doing joining the meeting?

Leslie is the sycophantic, thin-as-a-rail corpse like repoterette/assassin/interviewer who has sunk to doing hit pieces for her '60 Too Many Minutes' bosses. But, Monica Crowley was there too. I guess they were trying to get people from more side than one at the event - from the right side and the dark side! ;)

Call them to account? Hell, they won't even report stories like this one. This report is in News Max. It cites no other sources. And you can bet your bottom dollar that no account of these outrageous claims will show up in the New York Times. Or CBS, whose reporter was "on the spot".

It needed to be said again.

The mainstream media is the most powerful, dangerous, and relentlessly destructive institution in this country. They will most likely succeed in making the Democrat candidate President in November.

The voters are so very uninformed and ignorant, whatever the mainstream media says, a great many of them will lap up willingly or just absorb subconsciously. It's a bad scene coming in November with so many American voters still greatly reliant for their attitudes and opinions on the liberal/socialist mainstream media.

For instance, take this Cuomo rant. Some here on this thread lament that this rant is not covered by the mainstreamers, so that Cuomo's foolishness may be exposed for what it is. Well if it were covered, the mainstreamers would frame the Cuomo comments to make Bush look duplicitous. They would most likely center on the bogus number of Iraqui deaths that Cuomo absurdly asserts. The American public would learn very little but the worst. We cannot win with the mainstream media! Look what one lamestreamer (Viacom) did with the chorus of boos for Hillary at the N.Y. City 9/11 Concert. They removed the boos!

The mainstream media is a PROMOTER and a NURTURER of the Democrat party. And because the great majority of voters are still influenced through the mainstream media filter, this country is doomed to their biases -- unless, the good guys get together quickly and set out to find ways to wise people up!

We better hurry!

"You killed 60,000 Iraqis - most of them innocent - to start that war in Iraq. You lost 1,000 American men and women to start that war in Iraq"

Wonder where this A.H. gets his hyperinflated figures...

He's clearly counting Iraqi regular troops as innocents, and non-combat deaths like road accidents and heart attacks...then rounding up.

I'm sure you saw my subsequent posts where I corrected my error and noted that Monica Crowley was there. You're right. If the panel had been seated on a see-saw, Monica Crowley would have been up in the air. That's how unfair and unbalanced this type of thing usually is.

There are so many explanations for this, but the press has to be up there as villain #1. How many times have these democrats gotten away with this nonsense with no one calling them to account? Calling them to account? If you've ever watched a Daschle, Kennedy or Cuomo news conference, the reporters actually instigate these outrageous statements.

*****

We must take on the press and call them to account. A phone call to the news director of a radio station or the the ombudsman of a newspaper will get you a conversation with a real person. I believe that we are motivated enough now to turn the tide of their free ride as an arm of the dem party.
