I am in a relationship with a beautiful and loving partner. My significant other and I can frequently be seen together at social events and cultural events around town. Because of the stares and unheard whispers of those around us, I feel it is necessary to shout it out ... "we are together, and you must all acknowledge our togetherness!"
My partner and I have gone from being almost completely closeted to being out as a couple to waiters, neighbors, car salesmen, subway riders, co-workers, politicians and most everybody else we encounter. People need to know! It is essential that we tell everyone. We are together. We have sex. We hold hands. We shower together. I think I may put up a web site that has photos of all the things we do together because, dammit all, you people HAVE to not just acknowledge our togetherness, you have to CELEBRATE IT!!!
And we are going to be in your face with it until you respond to our satisfaction! There are millions like us, and we are sick of hiding our love and affection in our own closet, bathroom, laundry room, bedroom, garage, and kitchen, and even once in the attic. We are OUT and PROUD! And we will not stop shouting it from the rooftops until you alter every single thread that holds society together and shift the focus on US. Me and my partner are the central focus of energy in the universe. You are all our audience! Get used to it.
I don't care if we have to completely destroy any semblance of societal decorum and custom! I don't want you just minding your own business as if me and my love life are no concern of yours. Nothing else matters but me and my partner and having our lifestyle be the central focus of YOUR life. It is not enough for my partner and I to just share our love with each other. It must be shared with you! And you MUST acknowledge it! Or else you are a narrow-minded, bigoted, hater!

Freedom to Marry Week, which embraces Valentines Day and runs from Feb. 9 to 15. I can't believe nobody commented on this.

I can almost see the conversation.
Deb: (to waiter) Joyce and I are lesbians, you know.
Waiter: (to Deb) Sometimes, when nobody's looking, I pick my nose and eat the booger. Can I bring you something to drink?
Shalom.

Are you for real? IF that is your true attitude, that I must CELEBRATE your lifestyle, THEN I wish you all the HIV necessary to kill your body and let the Lord have mercy upon your soul. I don't have to give up all my rights for your pursuit of happiness. If I do, then you can give up your life.

Good one, I didn't see the sarcasm switch though. You really had me going!

I don't think people are getting your sarcasm...
