New polls show that President Bush's proposal to grant legal status to millions of illegal aliens is widely unpopular, even among his most loyal supporters.
Opposition to the plan runs so deeply that the Christian Coalition of Georgia, a conservative pro-family organization, has dedicated a panel discussion for later this month that will focus on the pitfalls of Mr. Bush's plan.

I am discussed with the growth of spending and the amnesty. I am seeing less and less difference between GWB and some demos.

Another worry that is really disturbing is how is plan to allow anyone to come into this country to "do jobs Americans won't do" will depress wages to 3rd world levels. I'm not rich. I don't have much. I work for a living. But thanks to Dubya, I and countless other American CITIZENS will be reduced to living New Delhi style.

"If this amnstey passes he will not be getting my vote or my community's vote." Don't worry, it will not pass.
The only thing Bush has managed to do with this is to create a super-nova firestorm of shock and awe among conservatives.
Nothing special, just a few million votes. Apparently he will be able to recover from the Mexican votes he has gained from it.

Bush has been alienating the base of the party for a while now. The amnesty is what has push a lot of us over the edge. Last night I recieve a fund raiser letter from the Rep party, it tossed it into the trash with the rest of the junk mail. I am a conservative. I will support the rep party when and if they again become conservative.

If you spend enough time reading the New York Times, The Washington Post, and USA Today, you'll be a rabid Dean supporter by mid May.
A few months ago, NOTHING that the NYT said could be trusted by "conservatives"...now, look at you, fawning on every word the Old Gray Lady says like she's your dear old grandmother.

I hope Rove and company get a clue on this one. Someone should be fired on whoever proposed prescription drug benefits to seniors, Mars debacle and this amenesty program. If it is Rove he should take responsibility and take a back seat or be fired.
2004 is shaping up just like 2000 and Bush cannot afford to have a lukewarm or cold conservative base on his Presidency. I can guaranteed Bush will lose if conservatives decide to stay home.

Bush stated he opposed amnesty in his state of the union address. Instead, he mentioned a guest worker program. These are two different things.

If this amnstey passes he will not be getting my vote or my community's vote. We do not respond well to hipsandering. We are Americans just like everyone else and do not want illegal alien border jumpers and their spawn to be granted amnesty and benefits.
Great, I'm sure the Democrat you will get in his place will be sure to appoint a lot of conservative judges who over the next 20 years will support the government's effort to enforce immigration laws.
Oh wait! It's the liberal judges appointed by past Democrats that have blocked every effort to enforce immigration laws and limit the government benefits available to illegal aliens.
The Democrats WANT you all hot and bothered about ANY effort at immigration reform because it improves their chances of controlling the judgeships and that is where the real answer lies. Wake up! If you want to fix immigration, you have to start with the courts!
