Nancy Pelosi and Tom Dashle are responding. Pelosi is reading verbatim from her script. Looks like a teleprompter. She lost her place and looked foolish.

LOL. My wife said she looks like she has tooth picks holding her eyes open Nice whip! ;)
It must be hard to sleep with one's eyes 'wide open'!
Too bad her eyes are not 'wide open' concerning taxation and a few other things.

It's like someone is pulling her skin from behind... Reminds me of "Egger" in Men in Black. (Really, it was Edgar, but his wife called him Egger.)

I agree with you on the quote, but she left out this part just before it for OBVIOUS reasons: Purley Political. I agree, though I think the quote she used could be interpreted another way.
nan likely meant to say that JFK's words are a message to the United States, that we must seek the assistance (permission) of other nations - "My fellow citizens of the world, ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."
Another way of interpreting this is as a message to the other nations of the world to get off their collective duffs and do their part to help the United States. I think nan would say this interpretation is wrong.

Kennedy Said
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
This much we pledge--and more

I think nan would say this interpretation is wrong. You are expecting the rest of the world to help the United States doing their part to rid the world of terroists, hunger, AIDS, etc. </ sarcasm>

Jimmy Kimmel showed a clip of Pelosi where it looked like she was pursing up for a kiss during that speech!! Absolutely hilarious!!! He made a comment about her "using sex" to sell her point!! LOL!
To: SLB
Daschle had the most used-car smile and phony upbeat voice I've heard from him. It nearly killed to use the positive word opportunity, cause it's positive and not a word that would "sadden" you.

What happen to "pay any price, bear and burden, ....." for the defense of liberty? I guess JFK never said that and I'm only dreaming he did.

The overall Democrat's response was just such an example.
The vast majority of the accusations lobbed by Dash-hole and Peloozie could have just as easily been thrown at Clinton, yet these same idiots had nothing to say when Clintoon was in office.
If GW takes huge steps he has gone too far, if he takes small steps, he hasn't gone far enough. Can't win for loosing....

I didn't listen to the response. I saw that Botox Dinosaur Pelosi's face, stretched like Hannibal Lecters lampshade made of human skin, and couldn't bear it.
It is interesting to note. In Los Angeles, only KNX1070 carried the Democratic Response. KFWB980 went to regular news programming, KFI640 (number one AM station in the US) went back to bashing Bush on immigration, KABC790 talked favorably about the President's speech, and KRLA870 reran the first hour of Michael Savage.
To: TheBattman
All I can say is, if these democrats were in office after Pearl Harbor, we would now be speaking german and there would not be a Jew alive on this earth.

You are absolutely correct.
What Daschkle said makes no sense either in its plain language or as an expression of political sentiment.

Unfortunately, Miss "Facelift" did not misquoted JFK. You can see his inaugural speach on another link posted! Otherwise it was the usually dem's "Cry-Babies'" language!!
