Might NOT surprise some bots that I think the bolded is bs and I WISH it were true. Do you believe that Bush supports abortion and gay marriage?

The price of freedom is high. You might think you would not sacrifice your life for it, but maybe you don't have to. After all, 20-year-old Americans are doing it for you, every day. GREAT closing statement if there ever was one.

Might NOT surprise some bots that I think the bolded is bs and I WISH it were true. Based on some of your other comments, It doesn't surprise me one bit that you are saying this.
And, since President Bush is pushing a Federal amendment to protect marriage, I'd say your assertion is incorrect.

It seems the president isn't popular with either the far left or the far right. IMHO that puts him right where an American president should be.

I think you'll find that many, many non-involved Democrats have the impression that they should not like Bush. They can't give you specifics, but they know he's baaaad.
Fortunately, at this point in time, they are still in the minority.

Byron, great post. Good to see you posting again.

How can Americans vote for a guy who went to war over weapons of mass destruction that did not exist? In the clinton mentality, Who cares, the economy is good I'm making money again, lets move on.
Incidentally Bush won the election and was not appointed - (the mantra of brain dead democrats.) WMD did and do exist in Iraq. I have a proposition for democrats. I will bury $10,000 in a coffee can someplace in Illinois, It's yours if you can find it in 6 months.

A very un-CarolineOverington-ish article. I'm shocked, but happy, that she wrote it.
Thanks for posting it.

Great article! There is a lot of truth in this that I wish more people would take into consideration as they trash the President 24/7 - and yes, I mean on FR, too.

W, the ever-careful politician, has made some straddling statements. Part of this waffling is in order not to disrespect states' rights - so far as gay union laws passed by a state
legislature (as opposed to judicial activists).
Despite the equivocating, I think his words have been supportive. I expect his support in general will help the causes of those who do not want marriage redefined.

Great post! Some would say I'm jingoistic, but I am proud that the major English-speaking nations of the world (Australia, the UK, and the US) have been leading the charge in the war on terror. The English-speaking peoples save the world....again!
