Dean may be toast. I really think he thought he had this one sewn up. Kerry taking the nomination does remove the McGovern factor a bit.

Yes, but if this pisses off the far, far left enough, they might stay home or vote Green. This could cost the Dems 2-3 additional Senate seats.

Green voters then vote D in the Senate races, this is why the GOP lost 4 in 2000. Thanks alot Ralph Nader

The green voters come to the polls to vote for the green candidate like Nader then pick the Democrats down the ticket. It dosen't help to have a popular (sort of) green when it comes to the Republicans taking additional Senate seats.
