Kerry to Adopt 'Renoir' Fund-raising Strategy

He may be leading in Iowa's presidential polls now - but months of disappointing performances have left Sen. John Kerry's campaign coffers so depleted he's now preparing to sell off the Heinz-Kerry family art treasures.

"Watch for the Renoir strategy from the Kerry campaign," Newsweek's Howard Fineman told NBC's "Chris Matthews Show" on Sunday.

"They're going to mortgage all their fancy paintings in the Kerry-Heinz household up in Massachusetts to raise money for the rest of this campaign," Fineman said.

Kerry has already lent his campaign $6.4 million based on a mortgage of his share of the Heinz-Kerry home in Boston's tony Beacon Hill section.

The Massachusetts Democrat had raised more than $20 million for 2003, prompting him to reject federal matching funds.

But his fund raising slowed considerably toward the end of last year, tallying less than the $4 million in the fourth quarter.

America is not going to elect a Northeastern liberal Senator to the Presidency. Period.

Kerry is wasting Teresa's money.

I suspect he made a rather bad investment.

Geez the City of Boston has the property at 19 Louisburg Square assessed at $6.9 Million.

Yet Lurch is able to hock his HALF for $6.4 Million? Hmmmm.

You don't suppose the Senator maybe isn't paying his fair share in property taxes?

I just wonder what the artwork and silver will bring down at Empire Loan?

Wait until the rest of the country finds out his voting record in the Senate is identical to Ted Kennedys.
And being Michael Dukakis' Lt.Governor won't help much either.

Yeah, it's probably a waste. But it's the only way they can legitimately get Teresa's cash into his campaign.

He mortgages out his "half" of everything she owns, then later, after November, she pays off everything.
