I kept it to snippets to keep within the excerpts guidelines.
What my question to the FR posters voicing their strong opposition to Bush, to the extent of not wanting to vote for him: Which of the above Dems do you prefer?
In November Bush or one of the above Dems WILL be US President for the next 4 years.
Do you prefer Bush's stand on terrorism, national defense, foreign policy, economy (taxcuts), immigration, or do you prefer the Dems' stand on those issues?
It's going to be either Bush or one of the Dems -- you can read the Dems stand on the issues of illegal immigration in the above article -- recommend reading the entire article, so you get the full impact.
Who do you think will be better for the country overall -- Bush or one of them?

But the bottom line is that BUSH IS PRESIDENT RIGHT NOW, now the candidates.
It is BUSH who could pass legislation NOW that should be our major concern not what may or could happen in the future.
What they (the dems) MIGHT do is of no importance right NOW.
The argument is not a valid one right at this moment the only valid argument is that Bush has proposed legislation that could very well pass way before november.
And this just cannot happen.

I prefer Dean because he is an outsider. And I'm sure a Dean presidency would revitalize conservatives in Congress and in general.

Well, at least you moderates are consistently anti-conservative. I remember you attacking conservatives for supporting McClintock.
While the conservative gubernatorial candidate lost, conservatives know that it was the act of refusing to join with (R)nold that forced him to the right. So, by sticking to their principles, conservatism won.
Similarly, conservatives won't follow your lead and wave the white flag now, there would be no incentive for Bush to do anything to mollify his base. (Notice how Bush finally does a recess appointment of Pickering only after his amnesty flop?)
Conservatives are merely exercising their right to vote for/against the republican government they support. Real conservatives don't support socialism even if it is Republican socialism.
PS free republic is a conservative forum
