A poll says Californians don't want to refinance past debts from 2003 when they vote March 2. That's bad, because the $12 billion bond the Legislature and former Gov. Gray Davis already approved to cover their gross overspending last year is legally dubious, necessitating that voters approve the governor's March refinancing and replacement bond.

The unknown in the March 2d election is that the 'Crat nominating vote will be going on, so the Dems will probably be turning out in greater numbers than the 'Pubbies. At this point, I see Arnold's replacement bond issue as a toss up, but we're still a long, long way to election day.

More correct would be to say: "but the fine print says looters support new taxes only on cigarettes and the rich.

That's what we've become. A nation of looters.
