Channel 5 news/Chicago had story about the Pickering appointment last night. The story was actually an editorial about how evil President Bush was for abusing the constitutional process.

"President Clinton, in a recess appointment, named Bill Lann Lee as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights of the Department of Justice Aug. 3. Lee, who has been serving as acting assistant attorney general since December 1997, will continue in the position until the end of Clinton’s term this January."

I wonder if NOW protested this recess appointment by Clinton...not. I do wonder how such partisan organizations qualify for non-tax status in terms of donations.
