[history]
A noticeably subdued group of California Democrats opened its annual convention Saturday, pledging to re-elect Sen. Barbara Boxer and defeat President Bush in November.
But the recall race that bounced Democratic Gov. Gray Davis in October in favor of Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger cast a long shadow across the convention hall. It left speakers struggling for a message to motivate activists after the party's most humiliating defeat in years.

Only way Dr. Dean could help California Democrats find their party would be if he was a proctologist.

One sure sign of the abstinence of The Democrat Party in California, in the face of reality, is the choice of their speakers.
Grey Davis was actually invited to speak after battling the party loyalists for 3 years. What a hoot.

That was my favorite part too: They should be careful to not make such ripe statements!

SInce he's an abortionist, I keep waiting for the stupid Democrats to make some tasteless joke about his "aborting the conservatives." THAT would be a nice noose into which he might slip his neck.

Democrats have no vision. They simply stand for more spending. Nothing new.

The Democrats in California live dangerously. They really have no idea how much times have changed. Heck, let em keep on hawking their tax and spend philosophy - it was a winner last October!
