Well said, but let's get this RINO term out in the open, for all to see, yet again.
The term " RINO , for the benefit of the misusers, means : REPUBLICAN IN NAME ONLY. That fits the likes of Jim Jeffords, before he jumped. REPUBLICAN does NOT mean " CONSERVATIVE ", it doesn't mean so far right, that one is 99.9999999999999999% over the cliff, and it doesn't mean Dem-lite.
Calling someone a RINO, here, has become like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton calling anyone not going along with one of their scams a RACIST.

Would you please clue me in? I have been away for a funeral for a family member, or in verbal combat on the immigration threads!

Yeah, "Corporal Klinger" was WKB's invention. But he thought using it for Clark might be an insult to wacked crossdresser.

PERSPECTIVE:
Rather than OVEREMPHASIZE the meaning of one-shot polls, we should consider the results of more meaningful (ROLLING) TRACKING POLLS! I've been watching several such polls, which essentially support the following 'tracking' results from Rasmussen.
Rasmussen Tracking Poll
[This poll surveys 1,500 LIKELY VOTERS on a ROLLING basis}
Since the beginning of January, this poll and other tracking polls have placed the President's approval rating between 54% and 57%. Currently, January 14-16,2004, the tracking poll has the President's approval rating at 57% (35% strongly approve vs 28% strongly disapprove -- the HIGHEST in almost 3 weeks).
As most tracking polls indicate, a president's JOB approval rating CORRELATES with voter perception of the economy -- after the January 9 jobs report, the poll noted a job approval decline which has now disappeared!
COMPARATIVES
At this point in their respective presidencies, Reagan's 'Gallup' approval rating was 52%, Bush 41's rating was mid-40s, and Clinton's approval rating was 42%!
REMEMBER, IT'S A MARATHON NOT A SPRINT!

Please explain, in detail ( and pull up the thread, which called for such a FREEP and CCP it to this one)when and WHERE this FREEP took place.
IF, as you claim, it was the FIRST organized FREEP, after FR was formed, then please explain why you FREEPED then GOVERNOR of TEXAS Bush on a " national " (?) policy position when Clinton was president.
If, OTOH ( see, I'm giving you an " out " ) you're claiming that you FREEPED him, with a group from here, when he was CANDIDATE Bush, then it's an outright LIE , that that FREEP was the FIRST of all FREEPS, after this site was formed.
To: DrDeb
That it is! Thanks for the timely reminder.

Don't forget, most of us are now "Bush-bots" and "Republicrats" and "Socialists" Because we don't rally behind the "Third Party" lesson from '92.
Boy! that really worked, we showed that Bush guy! We got 8 years of Clinton..........(Here we go again)

The last poll put out that mentioned illegal immigration had it about 6th in voter concerns. Who knows? I know Tex and so does the majority of everyone else.
President Bush's slow motion, incrementaly amnesty for millions that have broken our laws was a brutal mistake for the President.

If it's any comfort, I have noticed that the immigration threads are stuck to the same fringe third-party posters. This means that they are very few in numbers so we have little to worry about. The real issues are the economy, jobs, national security and medicare.
The immigration issue is only important the the Bunker builder Buchannanites, about 1%.

Did any of you even bother to read the article? We must be inundated with ONE ISSUE people on this board or DU has infiltrated. While I disagree with much of what GW has done or wants to do on the domestic front (save Homeland Security) I respect his leadership and can't fathom a democrat being in office during a time of such possible peril.

Boy! that really worked, we showed that Bush guy! We got 8 years of Clinton..........(Here we go again)This isn't fooling anyone.
Everyone knows that if Clinton would have ever suggested this "plan" the outrage from the GOP/Republican's would be heard from coast to coast, mocking him, calling for his head/impeachment etc.
The hypocrisy is clear and very distasteful. Those that are putting their candidate and party before country are the problem. This is glaring.
