If you think defense isn't a conservative position, then you're wrong about yet another thing, buddy girl. That would explain why you're willing to throw the election to a liberal.

But it's getting harder and harder to tell the two parties apart and you KNOW I know the difference.

That is not true and you know it

Yes, I agree the republicans need to find their spine and slam the dems back in their place

But there is a huge difference between the parties

As for the spineless republicans .. that fight belongs in the primaries IMO

In the primary I have no intention of voting for Arlen Specter

However, if he should win .. Then I will hold my nose and vote for him in the election

Because the big picture is .. not to lose the majority

Mostly because the office holder could win without even running a campaign and no Republican ever won the seat and I ran as an independent (didn't have time to mess with primaries).

What? You're actually making excuses? Now just up the thread when people were trying to explain to you why something aren't feasible in politics, you were DEMANDING that Bush enact your every whim.

How is it that you can't manage to get YOUR ideas across and get elected, yet you demand that Bush put YOUR ideas into motion immediately or you'll slit your wrists and bemoan the loss of conservatism?

Right. How can you be "the base" when you're the smallest part?

They don't even know what to debate. Is it that illegal immigration is bad? If so, then everyone including Bush believes illegal immigration is bad. Is it that illegal immigration is a strain on social services? If so then everyone, including Bush believes that illegal immigration is a strain on social services. Is it that the problem must be addressed? Then everyone including Bush believes it is a big problem and must be addressed. The one debate I have not seen though is a debate on the proposal itself. They will not even brook the notion that it is a good faith effort to address all of the things we all agree on. No, the moment the speech was complete the "debate" went directly to a pent up "dump Bush" movement. The immigration issue has been revealed as a simple stalking horse used to justify the Freerepublic history of the "anybody but Bush" clack that has been raging on and off for 4 years. This is not an honest attempt at using FR to influence policy it is a crass effort to advance a hard-core agenda to break up the GOP.

Thanks! That's the base that's deserting us. Ta-ta.

You know, they did the same thang with Arnold and look who's governor? Not Mc Clintock.

The trick now is to get him elected and simultaneously defeat his Amnesty.

It's not going to take a TRICK to "get him elected."

91 percent of the GOP support him AND his policies.

56 percent of the people think he should be reelected.

And as far as that amnesty policy, his plan or any other plan doesn't have a chance in HELL of getting out of the House, much less the Senate.

Like I said, you lack the ability to see your own hypocrisy. I can't give it to you.

I agree with the "three years"...but some of us have been fighting hard for decades and we really achieved a great victory in 1994 only to watch our leaders throw up the white flag and "run away" like in a Monty Python movie because some (i.e. Newt) got too arrogant.

Our ideas are superior and more common sense and really sell if they are SOLD. The GOP has a horrible system and machine for PR and getting out their message. Even today I cringe at the ones on the TV shows that just give one line soundbites to questions that could be better answered with solid points.

They are on the defensive too much. I want to see them attack and take the issues to the Dems like in 1994.

But since it's early, I'm optimistic we will. Bush hasn't spent a dime yet. Once the Dem nominee REALLY is picked (not the "it's Kerry, now it's Dean, ooh, Clark is surging, blah, blah, blah) it's no holds barred...I hope.

I believe Rove and Bush have more in common with Lee Atwater than Baker in 1992 with Bush 41 who never even laid a glove on Clinton. I'll admit, they were like most people thinking there was NO WAY the voters would put that idiot into office. And they didn't. Perot took away too many votes in states to give Clinton the electors.

Yep .. I've also noticed he dyed his hair again for his campaign ads

Why he looks almost 70'ish

Then take it up with THEM. Bush didn't do that to you.

You know what nopardons says; there are those who see the glass as half full, there are those who see the glass as half empty; and then there are those of you who don't even think there IS a glass.

Try to CALM down. He's doing the best he can.

And therein lies the problem. I really don't want to see Specter as Chairman of the Judicial Committee. And I didn't say there wasn't a difference...I said it's getting harder and harder to tell. I'm really disappointed the GOP Congress loves all that pork. What happened to eliminating entire departments?

It is amazing. Bush is being blamed for everything from the Napoleonic wars to the advent of the "New Coke" and the Edsel. Just damn.

When did I say I demanded Bush enact my every whim?

I clearly said this is what I WISHED and would like to see.

It's called opinion. Are we now not allowed to express even an opinion?

And I'm not making excuses. I got my 25 signatures to be on the ballot. It was an exercise in civics. I promise you I couldn't get elected dog catcher.

I don't want to get elected to anything. I hate meetings and the droll language of bills..."substitute paragraph 5(c)(1)(d)(e) and (f) with the following..."
