Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is ruling out the prospect of returning to America to raise her child - because she deems her homeland too dangerous. The Oscar winning beauty - who is pregnant with her husband Chris Martin's baby - has been living in London since settling down with the Coldplay star, and she has no intention of bringing up their child in a threatening environment. She says, "I worry about brining up a child in America. At the moment there's a weird, over-patriotic atmosphere over there, like, 'We're number one and the rest of the world doesn't matter.' And the guns in school - it's not great.

She can raise her kids in any country she wants, but who does she think she is fooling? She wouldn't put her child into a public school anyway. Instead, she'd complain about school vouchers while she can afford to put her children into the best private schools.

As as far as England being safer, she obviously is oblivious to the Imams preaching violence in the streets of London.

Well, we have to remember that Gwyneth doesn't hobnob with the rabble. She's compassionate and tolerant, y'know.

Rhys-Davies has the advantage of being a well-respected actor all over the globe; even if Hollywood won't accept him, he'll still be able to work everyone else. He's made a lot B movies over the past twenty years, but the attitude in Europe over those is different; there isn't a stigma attached to them, but are accepted as coming with the job

BTW How many other people also remember Rhy-Davies that originally played the Kingpin, in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk?

I thought he was good as Sallah in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Wrong. Every one of us has espoused some sort of liberalness sometimes in our lives. To claim that we haven't is the moral equivalent of saying you have never sinned. Never slighted someone. Never made a mistake. To boast that you are approaching perfection is pride of the hideous sorts. We have ALL made such statements, whether you want to maturely admit it or not. I know it. God knows it. And everyone here at FR knows it.

Definitely! He was just magnificent in that part, as he has been in most of his films. Even in truly bad films, like King Solomon's Mines and The High Crusade (both of which desecrate the wonderfuly rousing books they're based on), he's always a terrific boisterous presence. Why hasn't anyone cast him as Henry VII yet?

When he was on the show Sliders, John Rhys-Davies fought to make his character a role model rather than being amoral and power-hungry.

I know, I hated to see him leave the show. Everyone had a role in the show where Quinn was the boy genius, Rembrandt sort of like an older brother figure, the young lady, can't remember the name, the emotional side, and John Rhys-Davis played the professor and more importantly, the father figure. I think when he left, the show pretty much "Jumped the Shark."

(Major Snippage) What he said was beautiful! Well done and I applaud him. Looks like i'll have to bump John Rhys-Davies to the head of the class and put him in my 5 top actor's list. I know myself, I've felt that we were headed into a war with militant Moslems as early as 1979 when our hostages were seized in Iran. I have the august 13th, 1951 issue of Time Magazine with an article written about the Moslem world also.

My 9-year-old daughter has decided to become a warrior, and a soldier, and fight for the right, even if it isn't possible to win. She can't wait for LOTR:ROTK to come out on DVD, either. She said "If I can't win, at least I won't have to live with it."

It's good to hear such a profound and noble sentiment expressed, especially from a 9-year-old.
