Bush and education: 'Compassionate' follies

If President Bush gets his latest payday for public education, hard-working taxpayers across the country will have more-than-sufficient grounds to sue for breach of contract -- the GOP Contract with America.

The way the Bush administration has gone through money -- we're talking about discretionary spending -- the compact once proudly touted by Republicans as a road map has become an obscure, if not meaningless, reference point.

More money for public education will likely only enhance the intensity of Communist indoctrination already taking place therein.

In the budget Mr. Bush will send to Congress next month, he boosts education spending by 48 percent over fiscal 2001. Included would be $1 billion for disadvantaged students and $1 billion for special education.

What the heck, it's just another $2 billion.

Education. The farm bill. Medicare. Someone, please, stop President Bush before he spends again.

Well, whoever wrote this forgot the government waste that will put all those to shame. The money spent from the taxpayers of the respective states to put men on Mars.
