This may sound petty, with these guys being at war and all, but this guy grabbing Saddam appears to have a goatee. Is he in the military (I don't see any insignia)?

There's a wee flap where rank is often affixed but it is not visible in this shot. Special Forces were involved in the raid. They have different grooming standards- sometimes wear beards. It could be he is a local Iraqi as well.
