Where is our daily weather report from atop Mt. Washington?

Sunny & mild, with light southerly breezes, I'd wager...

LOL - we see this at least once per year here in Colorado. At least for us it doesn't stick around very long.

And you see some blue skies and sunshine. The NE can go weeks without a peek of either.

The high today in Ottawa was -14 with windchills of -40. People are out skating on the Rideau Canal as always. Cancel school for a little wind and cold? HRMPH!

Get your Mt Washington report here

Fog, 100% humidity, 40 below zero, wind around 80 mph, will get worse during the night.

I like this weather. It is currently -8 degrees in my backyard and it is going down to at least -15 tonight. I went out today for a 4+ mile walk around noontime in which it was about 3 degrees above zero. Very invigorating, provided you are dressed properly (I was).

I am pumping water out of my basement due to the unusually high water table this year. There are now sheets of ice and very unusual ice formations in my yard due to the pumped out water freezing almost instantly.

Being in New England, I get all sorts of weather. 95 degrees and high humidity in July and August. Snowstorms in winter with subzero cold. And everything in between. And I like it that way.

The outdoor thermometer on our back porch currently says -20. It's supposed to go down to -23 in Montpelier tonight, but we'll probably get close to -30 up where we are. Extraordinarily, it isn't even clear tonight, as it usually is when it's this cold, so we may get -30 with snow showers while it blows 20mph out of the Northwest. Very strange.

I finally got a replacement part for my snowblower's augur control, which broke a couple of weeks ago, but it's too cold to do much snowblowing right now.

"I'm brushing as much snow out of my eyes as I am off my car," said Layla Abdul-Rahman, 32, of Dearborn, Mich. "This would be a good time to buy a ticket back to Lebanon."

It's ALWAYS a good time to go back to Lebanon!

Yep, 300 days of sunshine a year. But we don't like that to get out too far. 'Cause then more people will want to move here.

I don't think there is a month that the wind doesn't get over 100 mph up there. And they have recorded wind over 200 mph.

When you are at the bottom on a hot day with the temp in the 80s or 90s and look up, it is hard to believe it could be so cool up there. When you reach the top it is downright chilly even in the hottest of days.

They had fog tonight 100% humidity and a temp of 40 below zero with the wind at 80 MPH. You wouldn't last long in that stuff. - Tom

The train and various makes of cars have taken this body up Mt. Washington.

One year we were sitting at the bottom ready to go up when we saw ambulances speeding down and heard there was a wicked blizzard going on up there.

A couple other times we started up in t-shirts and got photos part way up of rime ice sticking out horizontally 8-10". It holds/held the world windspeed record of 231 mph and claims the worst weather in the world. Amazing place.
