After leaving the Army as a four-star general, Clark said Gertrude, his wife, only insisted he not sell weapon systems. Clark said he didnt want to work for defense companies but became an investment banker and admitted it was a struggle for money. They (company executives) said, We know you dont want to do this but we need your help, Clark said. Clark said he arranged meetings between company officials and top Bush leaders that helped the firm get federal contracts.
Wes was drawn in kicking and scratching. So he seems to claim.

Smart move by Clark. There are thousands of laid off or lowly paid American programmers who are pissed that they have been replaced or might in the future be replaced by Indians and Chinese. I don't understand why Bush hasn't made any attempt to search for votes from this group. Quite the opposite, he has expressed support for increasing H1B visas.

I saved 1.5 million people It's his preemptive strike strategy to frame the reasons about why he was fired. He was fired for other reasons.

Background on Clark It's all about raising taxes with these dems. Right, tax American companies more, that will keep them here. The more money they can steal, the more secure their job is.
To: Shermy
I'm currently an unemployed IT person. I will never vote for Clark or any of the other clowns the democrats put up there. I hate this offshoring just as much as anyone else, but face the facts. IT work will be gone very soon.

I have been saying for months that this will be a key issue sooner or later. Watch the Republicans blow this.

Oh, thanks for the ping, keep me on your list, if you have one.

I was waiting for a politician to pick this up, especially since Bush has shyed away from talking about it. Well beyond trying to increase the H1b program to a "anyone that wants to work for cheap, come on down!" amnesty lite program.

We will retain the software industry in this country, its that simple, Like his promise to end all terrorist attacks, this pithy remark belies a tremendous lack of depth. What next: "I will ensure no more dateless Saturday nights for Mr. Buzzcut"?
To: Shermy
So his wife thinks selling weapons systems is somehow wrong? Odd position for the wife of a four-star general and even more odd that he would go along with that.
Does that mean his wife will also influence Clark's position on weapons procurement as President? What weapons systems are acceptable to Mrs. Clark? We need to know!

Maybe so, but it's an incredibly stupid statement. The man is a four-star general and he's now against weapons systems??
To: Shermy
I seem to recall a couple of days ago Clark was blasting Bush's proposal because it didn't open the borders wide enough. Looks like he's been reading the polls in the meantime.

GOOD GRIEF .. there are so many lines to comment on
For starters
We will retain the software industry in this country, its that simple, Clark told more than 300 people jammed into the Alvirne High School cafeteria.
Clark said he would pursue changes in the tax code to punish companies that outsource skilled jobs and encourage firms that expand employment here.
The retired Army general said he would also extend a Buy America initiative to include intellectual property and block the U.S. sale of software that has national security implications
Gee Wes .. just how simple would it be to force company?
Are ya going use YOUR army to force these companies??
Oh and Wes .. about the sale of software that has national security implications
No need to worried .. CLINTON ALREADY SOLD THEM TO THE ENEMY

I have been saying for months that this will be a key issue sooner or later. Watch the Republicans blow this. Jobs, the economy, a balanced budget, strong dollar, etc USED to be republican issues.
